My 9 year old added soil and water to each, to make it moist. Cover always with tray and keep in a warm place. Super affordable and everyone can help. My 13 year old watches it and keeps water daily!

First of all, it’s almost December in New England, so germinating seeds isn’t something I will be doing for several months. When I do, I can’t wait to try this. Its size is small and it’s lightweight so it will be easy to germinate and grow plants. It seems sturdy enough as well for seed starting. This is perfect for children, a classroom, or someone starting seeds for the first time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Back to the Roots Greenhouse Germination Kit on a whim, and it turned out to be such a cute, low-stress way to start seeds indoors. Everything comes neatly organized, and the setup took me maybe five minutes — literally just add water, pop in the pellets, and plant. The little greenhouse dome actually works! It holds moisture really well, so I didn’t have to constantly check on it or worry about the soil drying out. My seeds sprouted faster than I expected, and it was super satisfying watching the tiny green shoots come up day by day. The only thing I’d say is that the greenhouse is small, so it’s great for beginners, kids, or small batches of herbs or veggies, but not for starting a whole garden. Still, for trying out seed-starting without any fuss, it’s perfect. Overall, it’s an easy, fun kit that makes you feel like a successful plant parent — even if you don’t usually have the best luck with seeds.

Easy to use and all seeds planted, sprouted. Just transplanted into pots and all little sprouts are growing strong! Great starter kit when you follow the directions.

Thought this would be a fun way for my kids to watch their seesaw start before moving them to the garden, but it's so flimsy they couldn't use it. Extremely disappointed, as the lid doesn't fit on, the vent arrived cracked, and the seed tray feels like it's going to fall apart. Usually seeds sprout for me fairly quickly, but these just look like a tray of dirt.

White mold grew within a few days. I tried to air out the soil some but it’s only grown more. Some of my seeds have started to sprout so it’s working but the mold is concerning.

No seeds sprouted and I regret buying this.

It's a water trap. Plants don't thrive as they should in these and mold grows extremely quick. I bought this and found someone giving away multiple small pots so I did both. I did the same seeds in the individual pots and this germination kit, one wasn't growing, one sprouted already. After a week or two the kit started molding and my seeds were pretty much wasted. The individual pots on the other hand are growing extremely well.
