First off I absolutely love the brand Back to the Roots. They have several different seed/pot options to fit everyones lifestyle and needs. This little adorable basil plant and inspirational pot is perfect for anyone from a first time grower to expert. It's decorative, and compact. It will fit nicely indoors on a counter or in a window or it could be the perfect addition to your patio space. This is a wonderful, easy way to grow your spices and fruit at home.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This cute little kit is working for me! I love the little pot and the soil pod was just enough. But the pot doesn’t have drainage holes and I wish it had come with a nursery pot. I planted mine in a little bag to help keep moisture on the seedlings. But once they get a bit stronger, I’ll repot in a nursery pot that will fit inside of the decorative planter. I don’t like having any plants in a pot without drainage because that generally leads to root rot or pests or both. But for a starter, this works just fine.

However, mine showed no signs of growth after 14 days. I followed the directions completely. I kept the soil moist and was careful not to overwater. I kept it in indirect light and a stable temperature. I’m not sure what happened. But I like the cute little pot. It’s very durable. The message in the front of the little pot is visible and uplifting. I plan to add some miracle grow and see if I can get something to sprout. If not, I’ll plant something else in this little pot.

Let me admit that I absolutely love watching the soil disc expand. It’s like magic, kids will be amazed. ! I included some photos including a photo with all directions and info from the back of the box. Also, I included a photo showing you how many seeds you get (a lot). Overall, this pot. Soil and seeds is a great value and having fresh basil growing st home saves you a trip to the store!

I cannot wait for my basil to start growing and to get back to you all and let you know how it grows. It was very easy to take out of the box and everything was in the package that is needed to start growing my own organic basil right in my own house. The directions are very easy to follow and so I can’t wait to have some fresh basil. This will definitely save me a lot of money and trips to the store every Sunday when I’m making a fresh pot of sauce.

I don't have a green thumb, so I how my organic basil will grow healthy and strong in a few weeks. You can definitely reuse the vase for your faux flowers as well if you don't wish to use it for planting.
