Expired when purchased

Bought these in store on Sept 16. I typically do a better job of looking at expiration dates while I’m shopping but was in a hurry. Went to use them and the “use by” date was September 12. Used the customer service chat to let them know with no offer of resolution. Real nice.

These tasted horrible. Bland and smelled like wet dog when cooked. Had random hard pieces in them too which took me by surprise. Disappointed as I use to love Ball Parks.

We always buy all beef ballpark dogs and never disappointed. However we do not use ballpark buns. Why? The bottoms are wafer thin and fall apart easy. Thanks.

Hot dog or squish dog?

I’ve had ballpark beef hotdogs in the past and they were delicious. These latest dogs were downright disgusting. They were extremely salty, untasty squish dogs that plumped when you cooked them, which is fine, but indicates a cheap filler added to them. They were limp noodles right out of the package, didn’t taste like beef or any other kind of meat, just salty, squishy mush. Not worth the bun to put it in. I’ve had cheap hotdogs before and these take the cake. Ballpark: GO back to your original formula and stop cost cutting before you lose all your fans. I will never buy or eat your hot dogs again until you do. If I wanted to eat a cheap dog, I wouldn’t have bought yours.

About a year ago we noticed that the ball park franks taste change. They no longer taste as good as they used to taste. Ball park franks were the only brand I bought for many years. I have switched to a brand that tastes like ball park used to taste. Why the change ? Your hot dogs are now nasty tasting.

What happened to ball park Frank’s?

They used to be top notch best in the industry but now they are selling them at the quality of bar s. I pay extra money so I don’t have to eat hotdogs with hard gristle/bones in them. Might as well save my little pennies I do have and buy bar s. At least I won’t be disappointed.

We just bought an 8 pack of Ball Park Beef Dogs. We got them home and opened the package to prepare lunch. There were only 7 hotdogs. Someone will only get one instead of two chili dogs for lunch today.

Beef hot dogs have changed. They don't plump when cooked anymore and they are oilt. I have to boil them for an extended period of time. The oil covers the top of the waterthen Ihave to rinse them off to get the oil that is sticking to the hot dogs. They also have cuts and marks in them I buy at least 4 packages a month.. I have given the company 3 months to improve it hasn't. I will no longer purchase them.

I have always bought ballpark beef hotdogs, but lately they have not been good at all. Whether I boil them or grill them they are very mealy like there is alot of byproducts instead. I pay good money for our food but I do not think I will buy any more for awhile.

Ingredients Must Have Changed

The beef Frank's have absolutely no taste at all. We have cooked them 4 ways - boiled, grilled, fried, and in sauerkraut - nothing helped. They were awful. They certainly do not taste like a hotdog at all. The inside is mushy and the mouth-feel is very unappealing. We all felt nauseous. The Angus ones taste somewhat better, but the shrivel up and split. We are so disappointed and will have to look for a new brand.

Too Salty and Too Fatty

Nathan - 1 year ago

I don’t know what has happened but about 5 months ago I noticed a distinct change in ballpark beef hot dogs. Today was the last time I will eat them. They are way too salty and it appears that it has a ton more fat in them. I’ve been a ballpark eater for about 30 years but no longer. Probably substituted cheaper sourced ingredients from another 3rd world country. Oh well. My son said something today about them as well being too salty and that he felt nauseated due to the salty and fattiness

Just terrible meat scented gelatin.

1 out of 5 stars
sergekannon - 1 year ago

There is no way these hot dogs got a 4.6 star average! They're paying somebody to leave good reviews. These hot dogs are not just the worst hot dogs I've ever tasted, but the worst food of any kind I have ever had. They say these are beef, I would be very happily surprised if there was 2% beef in here. These don't feel like there is any beef (or any kind of meat, for that matter) in them at all. They are more like a very slightly meat flavored gelatin. These are truly disgusting. It's like almost hot dog flavored jell-o. I will bet an eyeball and a testicle that all the four and five star reviews are paid for. If somebody gave me one of these without telling me what it's supposed to be, I would never in a million years say that there is any meat in here. The texture of these hot dogs makes me heave. Hot dogs are supposed to have the texture of meat, not custard. Never felt a more disgusting texture in my mouth. These are not hot dogs. They're gelatin noodles.

For years the only hot dog I would buy is ballpark beef. Recently the taste and consistency is not as good. Seems as if they are not beef hotdogs any more. I’m assuming because of the cost of beef they are no longer 100% beef or have substituted a lesser quality of beef.

Have always bought bun length beef hot dogs. Last 2 times did not taste very good, kind of rubbery. Hot dog and hamburger buns are falling apart. What happened? Ball park was always our brand of choice but the past year your brand has gone way down the tubes. Do I need to find another brand?
