The Year of Allan
Absolutely perfect! This doll is a most excellent homage to the vintage Allan. He has the hair, the side-glance brown eyes, the little smirk, even the slightly turned-up nose. Yet, he's modernized and can hang at the beach with Midge and any Barbie friends. My only quibble is that they put him on a Fashionista Ken body without a swivel neck. I put one of mine on a more articulated body and he's great. He looks teriffic next to the Barbie the Movie Allan, who is easily one of the best dolls from the movie. This is clearly the Year of Allan.

New Allan is a Great Doll
In the early 1960s Allan was my first male Barbie doll and my favorite. I still have him and have collected two others. This one makes four. The new Allan is an attractive light weight doll. I have him standing without a doll stand. He looks similar to the 1960s Allan and is modern. The price of $14.99 is reasonable. On Ebay this doll has been going for $60, mostly imported from Australia where the doll came out earlier. Collectors love him. There has been buzz on Facebook for a few months. I plan to buy two more to give one to another collector and one to a neighbor child. My hope is that Allan will once again become a visible and treasured doll for new generations of children.
