I love the idea of this line with the made to move body and once I figure out the head removal I’m sure she’d be a great candidate for a body swap. This doll is pretty so I may just want to keep her as is but I love the versatility of this line and am excited to get more.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Barbie Basics Doll includes all the fun of Barbie but dressed up as a busy on-the-go Mom might for a more formal work event or to a casual weekend party. What I love? The Barbie Basics Doll is very realistic. Her figure mimics that of the average woman with a smaller chest and wider hips. Her makeup is very natural and pretty. She is dressed in a fashionable black dress (although my 8 year old daughter did comment that the dress was a bit too short) gorgeous heels and simple gold hoop earrings … all of it can be found in my own home and closet. I also very often have my hair in a similar ponytail when I go out. So refreshing to finally have a Barbie doll that is detailed so much like today’s busy mom. In fact, when my daughter first saw her, she said “The Barbie is you, Mommy!” Fun with your little one! The Barbie Basics Doll entertained both myself and my daughter for a good 30 minutes of make believe mommy and me time. The doll itself is built to last. There are many jointed limbs that allow her to sit very well and pose in whatever position we wished, allowing for extra fun imaginative play! She is sturdy and can even stand on its own with the heels on. The dress was easy to take off and put back on and the fabric is thick and velcro is tight. Heels were also easy off and clicked back on. My daughter is fairly rough with her toys as similar dolls have lost limbs with many accessories broken, but this Barbie stayed in one piece and the earrings, heels and hair handled play very well. We grabbed other accessories from my daughter’s collection of dolls to play with her, such as handbags, jacket and sunglasses. What’s missing? The Barbie Basics Doll includes her black dress, matching heels and gold hoop earrings. I do believe a few extra accessories would add to more fun imaginative play. My daughter and I would have enjoyed some extra accessories such as a handbag, cell phone, coffee or water drink, bracelet, ring, and a jacket. Also, a comfy loungewear set and fuzzy slippers change of outfit would add to the fun. All in all, the Barbie Basics doll is a fun addition to our Barbie Collection and I can see us playing with her for months to come!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This doll is absolutely stunning! I love how it has a more realistic body shape compared to the Barbie i was used to in my childhood, super skinny! This one has nice curves, the material seems different as well, and I love the little black dress. I am keeping it in the box to preserve it writing to be displayed in my soon to be coming walk in closet glass case!

This is one of my favorite Barbie Basics dolls for 2025. She is really well done, with a great face sculpt, poseable limbs and head, and fun dress, shoes and earrings. Fun to pose and photograph. Good job Mattel!

She is wearing gold hoop earrings. This doll is great in the fact she doesn’t have the typical Barbie body. She is a little wider in the hips and legs which I feel makes her look more like a normal person. I love that this look will allow girls to see many different body shapes in a Barbie versus the typical tiny waist, skinny legs and perky breasts. The Barbie is jointed in her arms and legs so she can be posed like a person. She also comes with a certificate of authenticity as well as a stand to place her on if you like showing your collection. I would recommend this doll for any Barbie or doll enthusiast as she will be a nice addition to your collection.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first saw Model 05 from the Barbie Basics LBD (Little Black Dress) collection, I was immediately drawn to her. Out of the five options, I chose her because she closely resembles me! She has a beautiful curvy figure, long brown hair styled in a sleek high ponytail, light brown eyes, and neutral makeup that feels elegant and timeless. Her large gold hoop earrings add the perfect bold touch to her look. What really stands out about this Barbie is that she’s different from the original Barbies I grew up with. She has joints at the knees, elbows, shoulders, hips, and wrists, so you can pose her in all kinds of realistic ways. It actually reminded me of an Italian doll I had as a child that I loved for the same reason—although with that doll, the hands used to fall off! This Barbie feels much sturdier, and I love that I can move her freely without worrying. As someone who enjoys drawing, I also see her as a fun tool for art. You can pose her and use her as a model to sketch human figures, which is such a bonus! Overall, she’s stylish, versatile, and a lot of fun to play with or display.

The hoop earrings are fun as is the stylish dress she wears. Have to also give credit to the shoes! For Barbie collectors, this one is nonnegotiable. She is absolutely stunning.

They look awkward and large for the dolls body. She is a little bit larger then other Barbie dolls. I don't think i would purchase this doll for anyone.

Other aspect that cought our attention was the body, the lines are more natural than on a regular Barbie doll. The box also creates a great way to keep it in the shelf to show it off. The fabric of the dress has no over saturated or bulky stitches, very well hand crafted. The hair looks and feels really nice and natural, the color is so close to real life.

My girls loved playing with her, they loved the fact that her earrings detached, and they love the fact that she looks like a regular girl dressed up. They definitely liked the way she came boxed and her characteristics as well.

Her head is easily removable for wardrobe changes. On its own, she's a great doll but this is a great Barbie for young or young at heart collectors.

Quality that you would expect from Mattel, this doll has multiple movement areas: head, shoulders, upper arm twist, elbows, hands, hips, knees, and feet. The hair was long and the shoes fit like cinderella! The little black dress lived up to the LBD vibe. The mounting stand securely held her for all to see! 10/10.
