It’s a cute phone, although I was disappointed to discover it wasn’t the original Barnie’s voice.

Don’t waste your money
The volume is so low it cannot be heard. This is a very cute phone and would have been a hit on her birthday. Instead it was frustrating and very disappointing.

Wanted to like but volume too low
Great concept but volume is too low and not adjustable. I feel my daughter loses interest after a short time. She likes the lights. Maybe she will like when she’s a little older she is currently 11 months.

Hey Barney Phone Review
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I took the phone to my granddaughter’s house on January 25, 2025 and had them help me test the phone-one is almost 2 and the other is almost 5. The colors on the phone are nice and vibrant and the buttons are easy to press. They liked the variety of voices/sounds-but I myself thought Barney’s voice was not close to the old Barney voice. They held the phone to their ears but the speaker is in the back of the phone which was hard to hear. They tried to press the green bubbles/circles at the top of the phone-but they are just decorative. I held the phone with my one hand and I think the phone should be slimmer for their little hands. If they use the phone with both hands-the speakers should be on the sides/front for better volume/clarity.

Modern Barney
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The good: my daughter loves this phone! She especially likes the feature where it makes the “flashing” sound of a camera. It’s big enough to be more entertaining than other play phones she’s had while still manageable to carry with her. The less good: This was a nostalgic pick for me but Barney’s voice is not the one I remember from my childhood haha. It bummed me out but what matters is that it keeps my girl happy.

No volume control so it's hard to hear sounds
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Fisher-Price® Barney's World™ Hey Barney™ Phone, is a fun toy phone to play with but there is no volume button and the volume is so low you can't hear it. We just push the buttons and play with it, but to hear anything from the phone you have to turn the phone around to the back and put it by your ear.

We're sorry to hear about your disappointment. You can try changing the batteries if needed, but please remember since all of our phones could be held up to the child's ear while playing, this requires that the volume levels meet certain standards to protect your child’s hearing. Don't hesitate to reach out to our Customer Service Team at 800-432-5437, Mon.- Fri., 9am - 6pm EST if you need help.

Love it
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Barney phone is absolutely adorable. It is vibrant in color and has lights and sound. There are plenty of options for different sounds, voices or music depending on what keys you press. My daughter loves this toy phone and it has actually held her interest longer than I thought it would. It makes a great on the go toy.

Myles's Phone
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Barney Phone is super cute. It is not to heavy and has a lot of "educational" features. I really like the size and the design makes it easy to keep my 2 year old grandson's attention. Really neat toy!

My toddler is taking selfies all day
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This phone is so cute. It’s built heavy duty and the perfect size for my toddler to carry around everywhere. This toy makes my toddler feel like she has the real deal, she can take selfies and dial numbers. She likes to talk to all of the characters. My toddlers favorite feature of them all though is the inspirational song that Barney sings, she plays it on repeat.

New Barney Phone
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a totally new Barney character phone. The previous Barney voices and sounds are not part of this toy, and that is apparently welcomed by parents lol. This toddler gave the phone a two thumbs up, it kept her attention, and became her newest, best toy!

Barney’s Back with His New Phone
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The big purple dinosaur, Barney, is back and better than ever for a new generation of kids. For ages 2+, it’s perfect for my granddaughter who is 26 months old. Dinosaur and buttons…a perfect combination. Barney’s World toy cell phone by Mattel has an updated rectangular look with buttons you can wipe. The thick phone is easy for little hands to hold. The phone has 60+ songs, sounds and phrases and lights up. And thankfully, an off switch. Included are 3AAA batteries. The phone introduces Barney and his friends: Baby Bop, Billy, David, Mel, and Vivie. Their faces are depicted on the buttons, plus buttons with music notes, hearts, stars, email, phone and camera. When you press a number, it is repeated. When you press that button again, then the character speaks. The phone is basic enough for a 2 year old, but I think too simple for an older child. I guess it’s me, but I find Barney’s voice annoying and not the clearest on this phone. I thought the raised green ovals at the top of the phone were buttons, but they were just raised so I guess for a tactile experience. My granddaughter did try to press them. Disappointedly, the phone does not do the alphabet or colors. My granddaughter likes dinosaurs, and Barney, a Tyrannosaurus Rex, is the most famous. I don’t know what he sounded like in the 1990’s-early 2000’s, but my biggest gripe with this phone is his voice. It didn’t seem to bother my granddaughter. This phone makes a good first phone, but if you have an older preschooler or a toddler who is advanced, I’d skip this one.

Ok but maybe for younger kids
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I gave this to my two year old and it held his attention for maybe 5 minutes. It seems well made, has reasonable volume and has things to push to elicit sounds etc. The buttons are clear and easy to see. He had no trouble getting the device to work but age wise probably more suitable for a one year old

Barney Phone.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First I thought the sound was to low my grandson had a hard time hearing it. I thought it was very well made were it could take abused if dropped on the floor. The buttons were perfect size for little fingers. I felt there were enough activity's to keep little ones busy.

2 year old approved l!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Gave this to my niece and it brought back so many memories of growing up with Barney and friends. She is 2 and absolutely loves it. She always wants the phone so this play phone was perfect! Love the different sayings when she plays phone talk. It also teaches numbers. And gets her imagination going. This product is great!
