Works if you don’t mind the scent
This works well but it’s a bit crunchier than the cream pomade once it dries. It’s less workable throughout the day but on performance alone I would give it 3-4 stars. The reason I gave 2 is the scent is way too strong. Not a terrible scent but it’s just too strong for me.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Finally a hair product that works perfect for my hair. This Baxter product styling paste is by far the best hair product. I have used paste Products that come in a tin can and some work and some didn’t they were either to hard or soft. But this paste man!! I love it. I don’t need much to use to make my hair the way I want it and it’s not messy like others that get on the hands where you have to wash them thoroughly but not this stuff come off with ease. been using this paste since day one and haven’t been disappointed. And I am ready to buy more! And throw the other expensive garbage away. Baxter products are clutch!

Gluey but light styling paste
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently got the Styling paste from Baxter of California and it is a decent product. It has a glue-like consistency and it is not the easiest to apply on hair. I would have preferred something lighter, but surprisingly once applied it is very light in the hair. Hair does not seem like plastered or oiled down. It is also pretty good in holding the hairstyle for the whole day. I wash up the product in my evening bath and it is able to washed away pretty easily. The scent is pleasing and mildly sweet. Not at all bothersome. Like the product.

Strong Hold
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This paste although having a thicker texture that all I could describe as like glue, once in my hair it was easy style my hair the way I wanted. Once dried it had a strong hold but still light weight and it didn’t feel like my hair was glued to my scalp.

No weird chemical smell. For the price and the amount in the tube we are talking a month plus of daily applications so it’s worth the money in my opinion

On the good side, it isn’t very sticky, provides a decent hold, and the smell is not overpowering. If you like the glue/paste consistency then this is a decent product.

The paste doesn't feel sticky or leave a residue, and is also not too shiny (more on the matte side).
