Bought this for my PreK first day at school- unfortunately this did not survive the first full day of school. SNAP LATCH broke off. Which was poor quality to begin with since it was difficult to snap close

Latch are of poor quality!
Both my kindergarten and preK goer had this lunch box and the latch is of poor quality, it didn’t last a full school year. I am now looking to see what I can replace it with but there’s no replacement parts. We love all bentgo products initially and have 2 complete sets from backpacks to lunch bags and multiple lunch and snack boxes. I am so saddened that due to this I will be looking elsewhere to make a set and i definitely don’t recommend this.

Broken latch
I bought this snack box for my kindergartner in July ‘24 and unfortunately, it didn’t even last a full school year. The latch broke rendering the entire box useless. Bentgo doesn’t sell or provide replacement parts for their boxes which is extremely disappointing. I purchased this box to cut down on waste and had expected to last much longer. I wish the the snack boxes were more durable and I would love for Bentgo to offer replacement parts. The box was great while it lasted, but I will not be purchasing again.

Snap Closure Breaks
I purchased these to send food to school with my child. They were a great size for a 10 month old and very functional. However, I used them daily for 2 months and the snap closure broke on both of them in the same week. I tried to pop them back in, but it is difficult and annoying. Overall, poor construction on that part of the bentgo snack box. Otherwise it was a great food container.

Weak latch
I got three snack boxes and two out of three snack boxes latch broke within 6 month of use. Very flimsy.

Poor design
They don’t close all the way and when you use force to push them down enough to match, the latches pop off so now they have to be rubber banded to close - after two months of use. Waist of money.

Beware of Mold!!
After 6m of use, hand cleaning and air drying, blackish spots (assumedly mold) since appeared on the seals of 5:6 of the snack boxes we bought. I've tried soaking in white vinegar solution and laying in the sun with no luck. I would not purchase again knowing they last such a short time for the heavy investment. Mold is not covered under the warranty.

As lunch box for 2-year-old
I know this is a snack box but this size was perfect as a lunch box for my tiny 2 year old who goes to daycare. It doesn’t leak. Easy to open and close for my 2 year old. The daycare loves the removable tray which makes it easy for reheating in the microwave. I use silicone liners to further divide food items. Will be buying again for older kids’ snacks.
