A: Hello, there shouldn't be a need to fill with sand, simply add water to the basin, otherwise weight of pedestal should be enough.

Wild life water...
It looks very nice . Was 5 star happy till I noticed a crack in plastic bowl around the edge..I popped it back in place..I am not returning as I had already filled the base with gravel . It actually holds double the water our old one did for our wild life..I am sure the deer, birds, squirrels,ground hogs,and feral cats will not notice the crack.over all I am happy with my new bird bath.

Very good quality bird bath. It is very stable & looks really good in the yard. Holds about a gallon of water in the dish. Only thing is when its time to refill & through out the old water, you have to tilt the whole thing over & when its grounded, you have to pull out all the stakes to do it.

Beautiful classic design birdbath
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The birdbath was assembled in less than 5 minutes and although it is light weight it is rather sturdy. Suggest using the secure pins to fasten to ground in case of wind. The fact that it is a light is a plus however for lifting and/or moving it around. We display it in our front yard on red gravel stone near a small decorative tree. Needless to say, the birds love it as well!
