lid is to big for jar
the regular size plastic jar. I went to open it and the lid pulled right off when I turned it the ring only halfway broke off from the lid and came right off the top not safe to eat you need to improve the lids. they're too big for the jar.

I guess don't have it shipped.
I had this shipped to me and because I didn't need it immediately, I put it in my pantry for about a month. when I took it out it twisted open easily because the seal was broken. if there had ever been a foil seal over the bottle that was also gone.

Plastic Container Ruins It
The plastic container ruined it for me. Go back to glass container for a start. Makes for a better product, healthier for people and our planet.

Mayo Is Great, Squeeze Bottle Needs Resuscitation
A squeeze bottle is a good idea, but this one needs some remedial work - it is a fight to get the bottle to return to its intended shape after squeezing which is necessary in order to squeeze it again the next time. I use enough mayo that decanting the large jars into 2 smaller jars and keeping one in the family room and one in the kitchen works best for me. If a consumer makes just sandwiches, the squeeze bottle would be great. Perhaps it might work better if there was a softer area to squeeze and a rigid area to keep the jar’s shape? Thank you for a mayo I’ve used all my life (80 years and counting).

The bottle and label were wet and dirty. It looked like a mixture of water and dust. Really disappointed

I now use Safeway Select mayonnaise
Best Foods mayonnaise is not the same. It is heavy with oil and the lemony tartness no longer shines through. Whatever has been changed, it is not for me. I used your product for 48 years.

Soybean oil so bad for you
I have been a Best Foods Mayo lover all my life. No other compares. I am very sad that it uses soybean oil! It is so bad for humans. GMO to start and soybeans are bad for most humans. Soybean oil is highly processed. Can you make a mayo that doesn't have it? Plus I hate the plastic (also toxic, especially if it gets warm and takes many years to decompose) jar. Glass is healthier. I have started making my own mayo, healthier but no as tasty as yours. My health and well being is more important.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the best mayonnaise ever made and it so rich and creamy because it’s better than kraft mayonnaise but it’s got extra ingredients because I use it to bake a cakes brownie and cookies and I use it to make mashed potatoes.

You ruined a perfect product.
What did you do to the only mayo I have bought my whole life? I loved Best Foods! It tasted delish. It had a great solid like consistency that would stand up on a spoon. Taste was outstanding! The last time I opened a jar, that runny junk was awful. I thought something was wrong with it and threw it away. Well, that is just the way it is now. Awful. Why? Why would you change a recipe that was perfect? I want my old Best Foods back. PLEASE!

Abandon the recycled plastic bottle
Will not buy again, recycled plastic bottle makes the mayonnaise look spoiled and imparts a faint taste of garbage to the product.

My favorite mayo!
This is my favourite mayo above other brands, no weird textures or strong bitter flavours. Very creamy. I also really like its squeeze bottle abilities

GREAT TASTE, BEST EVER!
This is the only Mayo in our Pantry and has been for years, I am 96 and remember my mother sending us to a Special store to buy it. Have tried others but the flavor is just not there, give me BEST FOODS every time. Nothing goes better on a fresh tomato sandwich better than BEST FOOD MAYO! Or any sandwich for that matter.

It's not even close to the same
I have been a staunch loyal fan of Best Foods for all my life. I love the flavor. I've noticed an odd flavor but thought maybe it was because I had stocked up and the last 2 jars were near their date. No. I'm not put off by the color of the jar. I'm actually pleased there is an effort to use recycled plastics. I do like glass better. But the flavor is off. Not a change in vinegar content, just a strange unpleasant oily flavor. I asked several friends and family and we all have the same experience. It just doesn't taste good any more. I don't even use it. No. I haven't had covid. And here's the final reason. I found a small glass jar in the back of my pantry. Outdated. Tried the taste. There it is. The flavor I have always loved. I don't know what has been changed. I am out to find a new mayonaise. I'm not buying Best Foods to have a white oily product on my food. I'm buying it for the taste we have all loved. That's gone. and so am I. So sad.

A Guided Tour of Mayonnaise Meltdowns
I came here to check who owns Best Foods. Instead, I found myself scrolling through a chaos garden of one-star reviews — so now I feel obligated to offer a little guided commentary, one bizarre complaint at a time. Buckle up. ⸻ 🫙 Exhibit A: “The Mayo is Gray” Nope. That’s the recycled plastic jar, not the mayo. The label literally explains it. You’re mad at translucent packaging. This isn’t a ghost story — it’s light physics. ⸻ 🧪 Exhibit B: “EDTA? In MY Mayonnaise??” Yes, it’s a stabilizer. No, it’s not Windex. It keeps your mayo from separating into an oil slick and a bad mood. If you’re terrified of ingredients you can’t pronounce, just remember: you probably eat cyanocobalamin and ascorbic acid too. (That’s B12 and Vitamin C, by the way.) ⸻ 😵💫 Exhibit C: “Throat Closed. Me and My Son. Never Again.” That sounds scary, and I hope you’re both okay. But unless you were eating mayo by the spoonful, maybe look at the other ingredients on the plate before blaming the one that came in at a teaspoon. Sometimes the problem isn’t the mayo. Sometimes it’s the unwashed lettuce. ⸻ 🫳 Exhibit D: “I Had to Cut the Bottle Open!” You didn’t have to. You chose to perform emergency surgery on your mayo because you bought a squeeze bottle and expected a jar experience. That’s on you, champ. ⸻ 🤯 Exhibit E: “It Tastes Different! They Changed It!” I get it. Everyone’s palate is a little weird sometimes. But if that shift was sudden, I genuinely hope you’re checking for COVID — it’s still a common early symptom, even now. It might not be the mayo. It might just be your body asking for attention. ⸻ 🪧 Exhibit F: “HOW COULD YOU?! I WILL NEVER BUY AGAIN!” Ah yes, the dramatic exit. The “storming out of the store over emulsified oil” energy. Just don’t be surprised when you end up buying it again next week because every shelf has “chemicals” and your sandwich misses its best friend. ⸻ 🎯 Final Thoughts: I didn’t know mayo could be so political — but apparently, every third review needs you to know how they vote… and how they feel about science. This mayo? Still great. Still mayo. This review section? A joyride I didn’t ask for but won’t forget. Five stars for the product. One for the drama. Zero for the logic.

Made with simple, real ingredients
This is my go-to mayo for everything from sandwiches to potato salad. The texture is super creamy, and the flavor has the perfect balance of tang and richness without being too heavy. I also like that it’s made with simple ingredients like eggs, oil, and vinegar. Always reliable, and the taste stays consistent every time I buy it.
