Description
In the stomach, hydrochloric acid converts pepsinogen to pepsin, an enzyme that breaks down protein. Pepsin breaks down proteins into smaller, more easily absorbed substances. As people age, hydrochloric acid secretion may be reduced, which can result in decreased levels of pepsin. Without proper pepsin levels, the body has a difficult time digesting food. Betaine hydrochloride is used as a supplemental source of hydrochloric acid, which can be utilized by the stomach to produce pepsin. Poor HCL product
This product does not work well at all. The pressed pills instead of capsules decreases effectiveness.

Great Deal!
I like this brand because I get more in each tablet than the other brands. The serving size is 1 tablet, most others it's 2.

OK but
these tabs are great ... not as strong as country life but for most people they would be fine. You would have to be a fast swallower as the cover on the tabs disolves quickly, so down they go fast or you will get an acid taste in the mouth.
