Help little kids with big emotions know God that loves them and is right next to them, no matter what they feel.Speaker, pastor, podcaster, and author of The Louder Song, Aubrey Sampson has dealt with a lot of big feelings and heartache in her life and has written about lament for a grown-up audience. Knowing that adults don't have a monopoly on strong, difficult emotions, Aubrey turns to writing about feelings for our little ones with Big Feelings Days.
Children have a lot of emotions too, and feeling sad or angry or brokenhearted can be overwhelming. That's why it's important to help kids understand that their feelings are valuable and normal--and that they can creatively express what they feel to Jesus, who created emotions and deeply cares about every one.
Big Feelings Days is a tender and engaging picture book that helps children ages 3-7 learn how to release their feelings of grief, anger, and heartbreak in creative ways to a God who cares. This picture book includes
- full-color illustrations,
- relatable imagery to help children express and identify emotions, and
- creative ways for children to process their feelings with Jesus.

This children’s book can be used as a helpful coping mechanism for children ages 3-7 that have gone through an emotional event. Audrey Sampson writes this book in such a way that the participating child can identify basic feelings and work through them. It should be noted that this is a Christian book so the suggested healing path uses Christian principles. The storyline first asks questions to help identify feelings with incidents. Those that make them feel bad, sad or “make you mad”. The rest of the 33 page book introduces the following points to help in working through and processing the emotions in an easy-to-read format: -Possible reactions to the feelings -Everyone has big feelings -Introduces Jesus who loves them -He can help with the feelings -How do you know if you have big feelings? -Feelings caused by grief, anger or heartache -When you have big feelings you might want to… -Jesus is there with you -What can you do with your big feelings? Squeeze play dough, blow out candles, or draw pictures -You can tell Jesus all about your big feelings because sometimes He has big feelings, too -He can turn your days into better ones -How to process feelings with Jesus The illustrations in this book are bright, cheerful and appropriate for the text of the book. I received this book from the author/publisher free of charge, with no expectation of a positive review.
