A: Hi Lacy, Many of our customers have oily skin and prefer the Make it Matte version because it does not cause them breakouts. Our kid's SPF 50 formula is more lightweight than the original SPF 30 and is coconut oil free. I hope this helps!!

Greasy and stayed greasy
Made me greasy and didn't get better with time. I didn't blend with my skin and just made blush, foundation, and eyebrows, mascara oily. If you have mature skin and are very, very dry this would probably work for you. I couldn't wear more than 30 minutes. I had to wash face and put different sunscreen on. Also made my eyes water and sting, also my hairline stung wearing this sunscreen. Don't recommend.

Not for Sensitive Skin
If you have sensitive skin, I would not recommend it. This has absolutely messed up my face (irritated, peeling, burning sensation after removing it in shower). My face is still healing and peeling a couple of days after I have stopped using it.

I just want a sunscreen that’s actually for black people. Considering it’s the name of the sunscreen I thought it would be perfect. It definitely left behind residue & made my face feel super dry & tight. I also tried the regular sunscreen for face & body, it made my face look like a whole jar of Vaseline (only using a dollop smaller than the size of a dime). A little goes too far

Another disappointment
Another disappointment from BGS. While there was no white cast, I still had an issue with this product. I was in the sun for less that 1hr and my face was BURNED. What’s the point in paying this much for SPF 45 if I’m still gonna get burned?! I’ll finish using but will not be buying again. I was really hopeful with this one since it’s matte and has a gel application, but I guess I’ll just go back to their regular sunscreen.

My skin tone is light to medium and slightly oily. There is nothing matte about this sunscreen. It leaves an oily sheen upon application, which only intensifies throughout the day. I didn't notice a white cast, but it did seep into my eyes a few times and cause a burning sensation. It seems that I have to spend a lot of money to find a decent sunscreen.

Ok, here's the thing: it's greasy/oily, but it DOES absorb and mattifies the skin. I don't know if people are purposely writing poor reviews (that's a thing) or maybe they aren't rubbing in the product enough. But it absolutely absorbs and mattifies. That said, after finishing a tube of this, I would rather use their other sunscreen that's for the body (and face) because I don't like how this one sits under makeup. For days when I don't wear makeup, this one is great. But imo, I think this makes my already oily skin, really oily when wearing makeup. [Sidenote: it seems people don't realize there are two different versions/formulas to purchase -- this one, which is kind of like a gel and their original which is a cream. This one is specifically for the face (says so on the tube), while the other is for body and face. Just wanted to point that out -- they did not change their original formula.]
