Chicken Meal in a product that you say has none.
Dear Blue Buffalo, I have seen your responses to other reviewers who are questioning the Chicken Meal as the second ingrediant in your BB Life Protection Lam and Sweet Potato. You don't directly respond- just keep saying "The True BLUE Promise is that our products are formulated with the finest natural ingredients and never contain any chicken or poultry by-product meals": The second ingrediant in this food is chicken meal. Please explain and not with a canned response. Actually answer the question please. It is really important for the health of my dog! (Also, there is a spot to add photos, and it doesn't currently work.)

By-product meals often include parts such as heads, necks, and feet, which we do not use in our high-quality formulas. Chicken meal is made from high-quality parts of the chicken including meat, skin, and bone — that are rendered, dried, and ground to create a concentrated source of protein and nutrients. This is very different from by-product meals, which are made from the leftover parts after the meat is removed. Chicken meal in it
I purchased this food for my puppy because he was originally on Hills which has chicken in it. My rescue pup came from a shelter that was supported by donations from Hill’s Science Diet, so I kept him on it. However, he started to scratch and lick/bite at his paws. That’s when I saw the chicken meal. So I searched for a new food. Shame on me for putting my trust in this food. I have found another food that I am transitioning my pup onto and will not be buying this food anymore. They answered another review and said no chicken or chicken by-products. Well, what is chicken meal made from then?????

Very misleading
Our dog is itching more than ever! We assumed this was chix free but saw that the 2nd ingredient is chix meal. No wonder! Do not buy if your pup has allergies.

Good but strange
My puppies have been eating the lamb and oatmeal for the last 6 months….the ALL spit out the round pellets and only eat the triangle shapes. I mentioned this to a friend and she said her pup doesthe same thing. Does anyone know what the round kibble is?

Great Dog Food
My puppy loves this food. My senior cocker spaniel also eats the wilderness line of this brand. I want to defend this brand against some of the recurring bad reviews on the food from this brand containing chicken - the packaging reads no chicken *by-product meals*, not no chicken.

This food is dangerous
I have heard that Blue Buffalo has caused a lot of sickness in dogs. However this was a long time ago and from what I read Blue hasn’t had a recall since 2017, so as we were searching for puppy food the food we typically get was out of stock and we tried to find something that wasn’t too low grade and yet not too expensive. I was tapering my pups food and little by little with each feeding I could see she was started to get bloated. Yesterday she started throwing up. I didn’t think too much about it until later that night she started vomiting blood! She has eaten other foods and hasn’t had this reaction before. I’m sad as I wanted to try this food but have been fairly weary but I’m disappointed that once we did try it all the horror stories were true! I’m just glad I didn’t feed her too much of it or she would probably be dead.

Was gonna by due to it being no chicken as my dog is allergic, but it says chicken fat in the ingredients lol I’ll pass to a different dog food brand, also other PUPPY flavors with duck or salmon would be cool to because your PUPPY section of food is really limited, just make sure when y’all say it has no chicken, don’t put chicken in the recipe because obviously some dogs are allergic to poultry

My pup LOVES this
My pup LOVES this stuff. Typically I feel him only salmon dry dog food but I was turned onto this once I realized he goes beserk for it. I don’t ever notice a difference in behavior, energy, or coat but I can just tell he loves it the way he reacts compared to other foods.

So happy with the lamb and oatmeal puppy food.My Kerry blue terrier loves it. She has a beautiful thick shiney coat, strong teeth, and lots of energy. Of course, what else would you feed a Kerry BLUE terrier except BLUE DOG FOOD?? it's a perfect match.

Great food
I like blue Buffalo and in the local stores they only carry the chicken version for puppies. My puppy poops too many times a day on the chicken version so vet recommend to get lamb. Since this he goes less frequently and is firmer. Highly recommended but this should be carried in the stores!

Excellent puppy food!!
My puppy was 9 wks old when he started on this food. We also use the blue Buffalo canned food. He loves both and is very healthy. We couldn't find the food his breeder used so we didn't transition slowly like you're supposed to but he never got sick or an upset stomach. I highly recommend Blue Buffalo for all stages of life!!

Great choice!
I originally bought the Puppy Chicken and Oatmeal for my dachshund mix puppy. After a few days of having him, I noticed he was scratching a lot and starting to lose his vigor for eating. After research and thinking that he might have a chicken allergy, I switched to this formula, Lamb and Oatmeal. My pup loves it and gobbles up every bite; no hesitation to eat anymore. He seems to be growing well and has not had digestive issues caused by this formula (from what I can tell).

I switched my pups
I switched my pups over to this because another made my dogs constantly scratch due to an allergic reaction. My pups love it & it has their coats shinning & healthy. I have a picky eater & one that will eat anything, and they both love this food.
