Kids’ measuring guide

Use the tips & visuals in this guide to make taking your child's body measurements easy-peasy.

Dont have a fabric tape measure? Use a shoelace or pant leg to measure. Then, lay it flat & use a ruler or tape measure to get a numerical measurement.

How to measure

Height

Have your child stand in front of the fridge.Mark the top of the head with a magnet. Measure a straight line from floor to magnet.
Chest

Have your child make airplane arms. Wrap tape measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping it level & snug.
Waist

With your child bending to one side, measure the point where the waist flexes naturally. Keep the tape level & comfortably loose.
Hip

Have your child stand like a tall tree with feet together. Measure a level line around the fullest part of the hips & seat.
Inseam

Take a pair of pants that fit your child well. Measure along the seam from crotch to leg opening.

Nice look and comfortable

My son loves these pants. He says the pockets are deep and he loves that there is a side pocket that zips up so he can put his ear buds in there and not worry about them falling out. He wears these pants to school and to lounge around the house. They look nice too.

Sell these in store again, Target!

These are the only pants my son will wear to school in the cold months. He lovessss them. But they have been impossible to find this year! We need to size up badly!! Not in my local stores and didn’t show up on the Target app when I searched for them by name. I had to google them looking for a dupe to find a target link, with only a few size color options in stock. Target- please make more of these and then easier to buy?!

Need these in a slim fit!

GREAT quality but too wide in the thighs for my slim boy. Super bummed as these pants are really amazing. They do stay up (with drawstring) but wish they came in a slim fit!

My. Son. Loves. These.

My ten year old said they’re his favorite pants I’ve ever bought for him! If you like the other woven pant that’s been around for a couple of years, this is pretty much the same, but warmer for the fall & winter. The lining is smooth, medium weight performance fabric, not fleecy, so it lays flat and doesn’t bunch up. We have 3 out of 4 of the colors available.

Dress up or down

Functioning drawstring came in handy for my son since these were big for him to grow into now that he’s out of toddler sizing. We got these to wear for a funeral and they turned out great. Comfortable and sleek looking. Can dress these up or down.

Great everyday pant

Perfect pants for the winter and for wet weather. They are lined on the inside and are surpsingly warm. They have a UPF 50+ rating for the suns rays. There is a side zip pocket to keep things safe as well. Great pant overall.

Comfy

These are my son’s favorite pants by far! He thinks they are so comfy and soft. By feeling them they are soft and I love the athletic style of them without that swooshing sound of athletic pants. They fit true to size and washed and dried well.

Not quite true to size, but very soft and comfortable

I only rated this 4 stars, as the sizing seems a little off/small compared to other brands we have purchased from Target that fit like a glove. I will however say that the comfort of these lined pants is top tier, and my son really likes wearing them. As he dubs them "house pants" as their length isnt quite enough to go to school in. I will happily be looking for these in store to size up. I love how it has 2 pockets, with 1 that zips for house keys or important items that I don't want falling out of his pockets during the day. I also like how near the ankles theres a light elastic band that holds closed for days it rains or snows, or when the wind blows on walks to school, helping to keep him warm.

Look and feel expensive (in the dark colors)

You'd be surprised at how warm these are actually. I live in Minnesota and I got four or five pairs a couple years ago because they became my uniform. I'm 5'1 and 110ish pounds and the XLs fit great. They are good quality, the zippers are quality. I line dry them - I do for anything remotely tech - and they wear fantastically. I just bought them in black. The charcoal from last year was great; I haven't seen the gray this year. I got one greenish pair last year. Not as cute, feel like I'm wearing scrubs, too springy for winter. I wear them around the house.

Perfect and Stylish

My 8 year old grandson loves them!! I will certainly get more in different colors because they look so good on him and they're comfortable, good material not to figure them, doesn't shrink, tight waistband which is perfect for my tall slender grandson, all in all I recommend.

Very good pants for my active child

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are a size small 6/7 pictured on my six year. He recently sized up from a 5t to a 6. These fit great on him with a little room to grow. I love the simple black pants that are comfy for him. They look great with any outfit. They are perfect for school. The pockets and usable drawstring are great. They are a little pricey but I am impressed with the quality. They are worth it I received an incentive to write this review.

Great kids pants!

These are exactly like the stock photo! Color is spot on grey and they are a mix between cargo pants/athletic pants. They aren't thin but they are a great, breathable material and on the left side on the pants theyre is a extra zipper pocket. The ankles are stretch/fitted and these would make great school pants or play pants for your little one!

Great pants with many features!

The material on these pants is lightweight and soft, which makes them great for outdoor activities. I love that the material has UPF 50 and is water repellent. They are fully lined inside with a soft material. They have two pockets on the sides and an additional zippered pocket on one side. The ankles and waist have elastic. The waist even has a drawstring.

Good fit and comfort

My kid likes this style of pants and it fits him well. The material is somewhat thin and is not likely to stay too warm, but it is useful for physical activity or leisure wear. The fit is somewhat "skinny jean" style and rides high on the ankles.

Comfort with style

These lined pants for boys are great! I particularly liked the soft lining inside, which is incredibly soothing and not itchy, keeping my son warm. The outer material is athletic and stylish, while the elastic waist is comfortable and easy to pull on. The additional side pockets add to the overall style. My son absolutely loved them!

Solid pants!

Very nice pants. Fits really well, the ties also work. My child is a true medium in length, but needs the drawstrings to keep them up, and they hold steady throughout the day. Great for cooler, weather and rain. My child said they were extremely comfortable as well. No tag is always a bonus.

Well made and warm pants, good for layering

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son just turned 6 and generally wears a 5 in clothing. He tried these on in a size 4/5 and they fit him well! He is a bit short for his age so sizing down works well for him. With that being said, I’d say these run true to size. These pants feel nice and seem well made. They are quite insulated and I imagine they would be especially great for cold and rainy weather. They could be layered under shorts for sporting events. Boys woven pants - comfy sweats

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] (9 year old - Size M8) I recently purchased these woven pants for our eight year old and they've passed the test. The sizing and fit are great for the size ordered (we are in between sizes and these worked out great) length and waist couldn't be better. There is a nice drawstring that doesn't come undone or get pulled into the waistband. The pockets are practical and hold anything/everything a 9 year old could need. Would recommend. Corralled and easy to move in pant

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are the boys all in motion lined woven pants - in black color, size medium. My child is 4’8” tall and weighs about 65 pound. These pants fit true to size - easy to move around. These even have UPF 50+ protection! The side pockets are fun - allows for all the fun rocks and toys to be shoved in them. My child recommends these pants, easy to wear everyday. And easy to pull on and tie at the waist. I received an incentive to write this review.
