Kids’ measuring guide

Use the tips & visuals in this guide to make taking your child's body measurements easy-peasy.

Dont have a fabric tape measure? Use a shoelace or pant leg to measure. Then, lay it flat & use a ruler or tape measure to get a numerical measurement.

How to measure

  • Height

    Have your child stand in front of the fridge.Mark the top of the head with a magnet. Measure a straight line from floor to magnet.

  • Chest

    Have your child make airplane arms. Wrap tape measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping it level & snug.

  • Waist

    With your child bending to one side, measure the point where the waist flexes naturally. Keep the tape level & comfortably loose.

  • Hip

    Have your child stand like a tall tree with feet together. Measure a level line around the fullest part of the hips & seat.

  • Inseam

    Take a pair of pants that fit your child well. Measure along the seam from crotch to leg opening.

Super Soft and Breathable

My daughter absolutely loves these shorts. They are very soft on the inside, and she thinks the "see through holes" (mesh) looks really cool. She is 8 years old, and very tall. After I had her try on the shorts for pictures, she asked if she could keep them on, which is very telling! Great product at a great price.

Shorts

These fit nicely and are true to size. They are decently thick. They are soft on the inside. Similar to sweatpants but in the style of shorts. Easy for my son to put on and off. Very happy with them. A definite must have for any wardrobe.

Shorts.

These shorts are perfectly cozy and comfortable. They have been worn for running around, relaxing, and even as pajamas in a pinch. He enjoys wearing them and thinks they are great to wear. Fit is good. They are an athletic sweatpants material.

Very soft and comfortable

My 10 year old fit well in the large 10-12 size. He says they feel very soft and comfortable, he liked the pockets, and would wear them for lounging and sleeping but not necessarily to school or out and about. The color is a light gray but I think a more medium gray would be helpful for keeping stains from showing.

Cute summer shorts

These shorts are a nice comfortable mesh. They are pretty thick and layered, so are not see through. They fit true to size these are pictured on my son in a M who wears S. So they have room for him to grow. The drawstring is a nice feature until he grows into them, they add a nice cute style to the shorts as well. The color is light but not too light. They wash well and don’t show stains/marks as well as the lighter colors. Highly recommend!

Just ok

The shorts are ok. The material is nice, but my son does not care for this type of material so he won't wear them. He can be picky though with his clothes. Also, they are a little on the short side for boys shorts. I feel they should be slightly longer.

Good Shorts

Casual mesh shorts

At first look you can’t tell these shorts are mesh. I love the design and feel of the fabric. The shorts are soft and comfortable with a working drawstring to help them stay up. They are a bit heavier then the usual athletic gym shorts but these can cross over to a bit more casual look. Shorts hit above the knees.

Short shorts

I love the short shorts on my 5 year old boy but they can be hard to find. It's hard to tell in the photos but these are pretty short and VERY CUTE. We ordered the white- I wish they came in more colors! My son loves them and will choose these over his name brand shorts.

Not a fan of these

My son was not a fan of these shorts. He says they were too short and too small. I did like the fabric. I thought the color of a lighter blue almost teal was a fun brightfyl color for those shorts. Only wished they were a hot longer in length.

Great Quality Short

The shorts fabric is good quality. But my kid likes wearing them because they are lose and breahable fabric. The shorts have a draaw string that actually works and has two pockets.I would definitely recommend them.

Boys mesh sorts, more cotton like material

These are a thicker, more cotton like short but with a breathable mesh. The tie front is a great addition to help tighten around the waist for a better fit. The color is not my kiddos favorite but he is picky on fabric textures and he was impressed by how comfortable these shorts are.

Very comfortable

My son was super excited about these shorts. He loves athletic clothing and he told me that these shorts are super comfortable. They’re also such a fun color and he loves wearing bright colors. They go well with several of his Tshirts.

These shorts were a thumbs up from my 6 year old. The fabric is sort of a cross between sweatshirt material and workout material. I found they are a little bit on the big size - I got a size small for my kid and they are loose in the waist.

Awesome color!

These are some nice quality shorts! I love the color of them and the material but I'm not a fan of the length. These hit my son pretty high above the knee and I'm more of a shorts to the knee or almost to the knee for boys mom. Others might like this style so it's just my personal preference! Overall very cute for boys!

Great shorts!

Comfortable

The Boys' Mesh Spacer Shorts - All In Motion™ are a great lightweight pair of boys shorts. The color is a nice light teal, the sizing is true to size. It has a drawstring on the front waistband and is really comfortable.

Thicker shorts

Quality shorts - these are thicker than I’m used to from Target, which is perfect for warm climate winters or vacations. The color blue is a soft, cobalt blue. My son is 10 and tall, and wearing a L. The style is a little shorter. They wash well, too! Overall recommend!
