Kids’ measuring guide

Use the tips & visuals in this guide to make taking your child's body measurements easy-peasy.

Dont have a fabric tape measure? Use a shoelace or pant leg to measure. Then, lay it flat & use a ruler or tape measure to get a numerical measurement.

How to measure

  • Height

    Have your child stand in front of the fridge.Mark the top of the head with a magnet. Measure a straight line from floor to magnet.

  • Chest

    Have your child make airplane arms. Wrap tape measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping it level & snug.

  • Waist

    With your child bending to one side, measure the point where the waist flexes naturally. Keep the tape level & comfortably loose.

  • Hip

    Have your child stand like a tall tree with feet together. Measure a level line around the fullest part of the hips & seat.

  • Inseam

    Take a pair of pants that fit your child well. Measure along the seam from crotch to leg opening.

Substitute scout uniform

My son hates stiff cotton shirts, so his scout uniform is a struggle every week. We have taken the tan version of this shirt and made it work instead. The fabric is softer, airier, and it snaps. He can tolerate this fabric without an undershirt which is crucial in Texas heat. Please don’t stop making these. And add a navy blue colorway for my younger cub!!

Basic boys shirt

I would recommend if you're looking for a plain top for your son. I would prefer a brighter color but this shirt is pretty comfortable and soft. It lacks shape so may be better tucked in, depending on your son's preferred style.

Comfy shirt with easy snaps

I ordered it for my eleven year old daughter as an over shirt and she said it was so comfortable! She also said she loved that it had snaps instead of buttons and how easy they were to do and undo. Dressy shirt to keep them cool

The fabric, all though moisture wicking, does not look athletic at all. In fact, I think it looks dressier then in the pictures. My son is 8 years old and typically wears a size medium which he is wearing in this shirt and it is definitely pretty fitted so it may fit a tad small. Also can’t beat the price on this. Boys maroon collar shirts

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Stay cool while you are out in the hot sun! This is a moisture wicking stay cool shirt. The shirt has a collar on it to dress it up but has a moisture wicking stay cool material that will make it feel like nothing is on. The buttons on the front are a large snap making it very easy for any kid to put it on. This is a size medium or size 8 and I feel it fits very true to size. It is a great pick! Easy snaps. Lightweight and comfortable.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son is a tall almost 7 year old wearing a size medium, 8. This is the best size for him. I typically size up because he has a long torso. I think this shirt is a great way to dress up or down. It is kinda like a camp shirt, casual and light weight. We ordered the color plum purple. It definitely reads more brown in person. My only negative is the snaps were hard for my son to pull apart. I fear eventually he would pull too hard and they would break off. I received an incentive to write this review.

Shirt Snaps Up The Front!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This moisture wicking kids button up is quality made. It has a smooth, almost silky, feel to it. Not your typical cotton shirt. The snaps up the front are easy to open and close. I like the look of the collar without a shirt being too stiff. It has good movement and perfect for hot days where you need to be a little more “dressed up”. This fits true to size, my son wears a size 8 and this is a size 8. The only complaint my son had was the plum color, I plan to swap it out for a more neutral color! I received an incentive to write this review.

Super soft fabric

All In Motion Boys shirt has short sleeves. I like the big pocket and the cut of this shirt. The material is so soft and easy to wear. It is very stylish. It has a light blue color. It is flexible. It comes in medium size which is a good fit.

Collared shirt

I got this collared shirt for my son. The material is not a normal cotton. It is not bad, just different. There are snaps to fasten it closed. My six year old was able to do them on his own without trouble.

Active and soft. Perfect for every day wear!

Comfortable, Classy, Activewear

My kid loves this shirt! It's comfortable, flexible, and comes across as "dressier" than it is. Since it's an adventure/athletic shirt from the All In Motion activewear brand, it has some basic moisture wicking and anti-wrinkle properties. Perfect for a highly active child.
