A: Hello Deborah - Thank you for reaching out. A boy's slim size is for a tall, very thin young man. The waist is typically 2” smaller than a regular and the lengths are longer. Q: What is the measurement of the leg opening on these bootcut jeans vs the straight leg jeans?

The primary difference between the two, is that straight leg jeans are straight right through, whereas the bottom is flared out in boot cut jeans. Only jeans my son will wear! One reason we get them is because it’s so hard to find bootcut jeans for boys! We’re farming, hunting, fishing outdoor folks and boot wearers - skinny jeans don’t work for us and those being trendy made it so hard to find bootcut jeans for everyday - and I didn’t want to buy expensive jeans at The Buckle or Wranglers (also expensive now) for everyday wear. These hold up pretty well for the price, the knee usually gets a hole first, but my son is hard on clothes. These are also favorite jeans because they have a snap closure - even on the bigger sizes and so many jeans once you get to size 8 it’s a button which is much harder for him to do himself at school and with other brands he was always worried he wouldn’t be able to get his pants buttoned after a bathroom break and he would have been embarrassed to have to ask someone for help. So these make him more confident as well. The adjustable waist is really helpful for when he’s been between sizes and because he is tall for his age and often needs a bigger size for length. Can’t wear short jeans with your cowboy boots either ;)

These are first pair of slims that are actually slim. Most other brands we still need to adjust the waist band a lot. My 3 boys are tall and slender and I was so excited when we didn’t have to tighten these to a pucker to fit them.
