Book Synopsis
ENGLISH DESCRIPTION Keep quiet and become an accomplice?Or go to the police and fear revenge? Fired from the architecture firm where he worked in Barcelona, Mateo returns twenty years later to his family home in Madrid. His father, Juan, lives there, but they've hardly kept in touch. In his eagerness to get close to him, Mateo will approach a historical moment in his neighborhood: an ETA attempt that happened twenty years prior. In tandem, the reader will get to know the story of Malen, who infiltrated the same neighborhood to collaborate in the planning of a terrorist act. Mateo's research to find the truth will take him to unearth hidden secrets that could dismantle the pillars of his life and the lives of his loved ones. Based on a real terrorist attack that happened twenty-five years ago in Madrid, in his first and exciting novel, Antonio Lleras reflects upon second chances and how, years after the end of the ETA, victims and executioners alike were trying to rebuild their lives after a common past of violence and vengeance.
