Easy to use and durable
My only comment is that they should come with a germination cover like the grow ease has. I had to improvise

You need this...
if you want your garden to start producing early. We started an assortment of flowers, peppers, tomatoes, pumpkins, watermelon and cantaloupe. All of those are now planted outside and we have a variety of herbs growing now. The only down side is that the seed starting trays are not super deep, preventing the roots from growing comfortably.

Good size, sturdy, but needs a matching clear vented top
It is a nice product , but it would be much better if it came with / or had an equally sturdy clear vented tall cover available for it.

Best Seed Starting Trays
I tried these trays out with one 16 cell and two 8 cell trays this year. They all worked great and the key things I liked about them were that I could start one variety in a smaller tray vs using a large flat tray with 50 cells and different germination times required. That is number one on my list! But other features like the way the tray is labeled with the row number and A, B, C, etc on the rows makes it easy to keep track of seeds. I loved how well the seedlings grew in these trays and how easy they popped out! With this being a reusable tray, I will probably invest in more. The other fantastic thing about the trays is that since they are partially clear, you can see how the roots are developing. From start to finish, these trays are top notch and easier to work with than other reusable trays I have purchased that require a tool to lift the seedlings out. I do wish they came with a dome, but I improvised and seeds still grew just fine!

Would be perfect if it had a dome
I like everything about these reuseable trays except that they don't have a dome which I didn't realize before buying. That's why I'm not giving it 5 stars.

Great design except lack of dome
I am very happy with these trays, the size of the cells, and the provided outer tray for watering and support. The only thing that could have made this product better was inclusion of a reusable humidity dome for when you are starting seeds. I had to use plastic wrap, which seems a shame with such a lovely looking product.

Frame breaks off when touched
Bought mine a year ago and loved the concept. But while the silcone bottoms stayed soft, the hard plastic frame is disintegrating on one of the 16 cell versions. I thought it might be because they stayed outdoors in the winter but reading other reviews from those who protected the unit and also complained about broken frames, perhaps it is a design flaw. And to think I ordered 6 more this year thinking it was my fault. Seedings came up but not thriving. Very disappointed because it was a great idea, poor execution.

What is the mold? Fungus? Yuck!
Very disappointed I bought 2 of these trays. First, I thought they came with a dome, and they don’t. Next when I lifted the tray out of bottom, the silicone and tray was covered with some weird mold? I’ve never seen anything like it starting seeds. The tray was under a grow light but not on a heating pad. So gross! Will not be purchasing again!

Good quality, easy to use, needs a dome
I used these in spring 2024. It’s an easy to use, basically good quality project. I saw the reviews about it benefiting from a dome, and figured it would be easy to rig something. I tried using it without, then added a heat light, and finally added a dome. It sped up germination a lot. But It wasn’t as easy to rig as you’d think—just the size and the condensation made it aggravating and messy. A dome or similar that was made to go with the product would make it a lot more useful. Otherwise, it was just what I wanted.

Only lasted 2 years
Must be made of cheap plastic because by end of 2nd year plastic bottoms broke open. The sides and bottom come apart after 2 years. Good idea, but substandard product.

Great Idea, Not Durable
I purchased this16 cell tray and the 36 cell tray in January of 2022, making this year (2024) my third season using them. The silicone bottoms tore off this year when I went to transplant my seedlings. I had hoped that they would last longer than less expensive trays, but they have not. When not in use, the trays were stored in a cupboard away from the heat and sunlight.

Leeching Chemicals, Can’t Grow Anything
I have been trying to grow my seedlings in this since March 14th. I have had to retry several times and I tried many different conditions to see if it was my placement or watering. It was not. Each time I noticed a chemical smell to the soil. Turns out, the plastic was breaking down in the sunlight at a rapid rate. I did not have it in direct sun either. I had some in a plastic tray by a different company that did not have the chemical smell and the seeds have grown very well. I would not recommend this product and hope this does not happen to anyone else.

Poor product. Must be something other than silicone.
This is CERTAINLY NOT reusable in the long term. I do not believe that flexible silicone would dry out and turn brittle... but the Burpee "silicone" product did just that. I bought several of these expensive seed starter trays thinking that they would be the last I would have to purchase. I was wrong. Poor purchase on my part.

Worries about long term use of these trays
I bought three of these trays in the past three years and have been very happy with them until this year. I set up one tray with nine varieties of tomato plant and three each of eggplant and pepper. Although the plants grew well for four weeks, after that they just stopped growing. The new leaves did not appear and old cotyledons started falling off. I had used new seed starting soil and did everything as I had done in the past two years. I can only think worry that something is leeching out from the plastic and/or rubber. I transferred all the plants to a cold frame and am hoping this will help them recover. I wash them each year with soap and water and store them dry. I am writing this review a a warning for those planning to us the same product year after year

Excellent product BUT…..
Excellent product, I have 3 of them currently in use BUT I really wish they sold them with a clear hard cap so we could increase humidity if we wanted. Or at least sold it separately that we could buy one that would attach to the hard tray. I feel like it’s a huge missed opportunity there. Burpee has cheaper plastic versions that come with greenhouse lids idk why they didnt think to make a kit of these hard plastic ones with a clear top.

Great Concept, Poor materials
The concept is great but the materials are cheap plastic which break under minimum handling. Won’t last more than one or two seasons. Please use better and stronger tools plastic for the cups.

I love these trays!
I purchased one of these trays a couple years ago, got two more recently and have just ordered another! These are durable, and my seedlings grow well in them. The seedlings are easy to pop out at planting time, and I love that the trays are washable and reusable. As others have said, a dome would be a great addition to this product, but it doesn't take away from the general quality of the item.

Almost perfect.
Love the tray, been using it for a few seasons now, but super bummed it doesn't come with a cover for germination. Had to buy another lesser-quality kit, throw away everything but the lid. Help me out here!

Almost Perfect!
The only upgrade I would suggest is to add a humidity dome to these. Make it as rugged as these reusable trays and it would be even better. That said I have chosen to use these anyway and have decided to use a humidifier instead so I can control the humidity in the entire area. It is not hard to do but would be less effort if there was a dome.
