A: Great question! Yes, our Nourishing Cleansing Oil should be washed off. We recommend dispensing into dry hands and gently massaging over your dry face. This oil is not just moisturizing but it smells delicious! It goes on oily but quickly absorbs in without staining clothes. I’ve had friends try it and they immediately ordered some for themselves. I love it in the summer and winter. It’s soothing after a day on the beach while not too heavy and it’s just as emollient in our cold northeast winters. I always make sure I have extra bottles for back up.

This is my go-to cleanser. I honestly don’t usually wear makeup, although the times I have this has been fantastic at removing. Most soaps and lotions agitate my sensitive skin and I use this as a face cleanser. This oil does not cause my skin to sting nor turn red. I also have extremely dry skin. The oils are very nourishing. It seems to be moisturizing my skin as well as making it feel cleaner after use. My skin complexion is more even and looks healthier after 1 use. I now also use a separate SA cleanser for exfoliation every now and then. But an SA cleanser can be easily overused and will leave skin slightly dry after. The Burt’s Bees oil won’t throw anything out of loop like that and will simply make my skin feel better. It makes me feel clean and moisturized without the irritation of most products.

Absolutely love!! Completely changed my winter. I have very dry skin in winter- itchy! I used this product on dry hands all over my dry body then jump in the shower to rinse off. Feels amazing. Surprisingly, cleanses well. Then I dry off and use a moisturizer. Highly recommend. I’ve tried everything, literally dozens of cleansers to help my itchy skin. Nothing works like this. Not even close.

This is the most slept on product ever! I’ve been afraid that people will find out and the price will go up. This is ten times better than the Elemis make up remover that costs way more. This is my double cleansing go to (works great on its own) and can take down the toughest waterproof mascara without irritating eyes (I wear contacts).

Really like this oil cleanser. Would have given 5 stars but every bottle I get leaks from the pump and this looks to be a common problem. I know this is wasting a good amount of product and am not happy with this. Burt's Bees please fix this common issue!

I will never go back to using regular face wash! I used to have bad hormonal acne when I was younger and it's gotten better now that I'm in my 30s but I still struggle from time to time. I have tried so many different brands of face cleaners including really expensive brands but they all dry my skin out or cause breakouts if I use them everyday. This oil I use morning and night and my skin has never been so smooth, clear and moisturized. I remove my makeup first with makeup remover wipes, then rub the oil on dry skin. I then wet my hands and rub it in more before rinsing very thoroughly, then I use my moisturizer. I rarely write reviews but WOW I hope they never discontinue this.

I absolutely love this cleansing oil. My face has never been softer. It hasn't broken me out and does not irritate my eyes, but it works really well for taking my makeup off. It also has a nice but not overpowering smell. Will definitely be repurchasing when I run out.

I’m on my 4th bottle of this after trying a couple kbeauty oil cleansers and makeup melting balms from elf. My main reason for switching over to this is that being 6oz it lasts me a long time- I would love a version that was even bigger! I have combination and acne prone skin and it personally does not irritate me. The one con I will say is that it is not the best at getting eye makeup off (mostly eyeliner), but typically going in with my second cleanser does the job. Love this.

How I ended up here: My new dermatologist recommended this product to officially “double cleanse”. Using an oil-based cleanser then a water-based cleanser to follow - she suggested a cleanser w/ active ing. like benzoyl peroxide or SA. *I’ll list what my routine consists of down below. Anyways, I was hesitant when I looked into this product because tbh the reviews are all over the place. I purchased it anyways despite the reviews and already being an acne-prone, oily faced, adult girly (hence why I even was at the derm.) SO here is the gnitty gritty on this product: packaging COULD be better as it seems cheap and for the price it’s kind of wild. You ONLY need 1/2 a pump on DRY hands and face - if you have eye make up on, girl you better wipe that off with some kind of remover before the oil cleanse (it’ll take way longer if you don’t); once you’ve swirled around for a bit, then get hands wet and go back to swirling on your face - it’ll start to feel effortless; after that you’ll NEED to wash off with a water-based cleanser.. something.. anything! If you use this product as a 1 and only cleanse, I would imagine your skin will get congested. I honestly wash my face twice afterwards to make sure it’s all off (you can always do the “white towel” test to make sure everything is off after all the cleansing). I’ve been using this product for about 2-3 weeks and I’ll continue to purchase as I’m a fan of the oil 1st aspect, it’s almost calming and feels luxury, AND most importantly, no break outs or horror stories over here. Products I use: 1. This oil-cleanser 2. SkinBetter gel cleanser (1 or 2 times) 3. Dermalogica daily microfoliant (has SA) 4. Continue with skin care routine/serums, etc.
