She has won many awards for her writing, including the Shaughnessey Cohen Prize for Political Writing, the Nereus Writers' Trust Non-Fiction Award, the Jewish Book Award for Non-Fiction, and the Canadian Authors Association/Birks Family Foundation Award for Biography.
