However, for best results, we recommend moving them outside after they germinate and develop their first set of true leaves. These flowers thrive in full sun and grow best when they have plenty of space and fresh air. Before transplanting outdoors, it’s important to “harden them off.” This means gradually introducing your seedlings to outdoor conditions over about a week. Start by placing them outside in a sheltered, shady spot for a few hours a day, then slowly increase their time outside and their exposure to sunlight and wind.
