Could be used for robes, towels, bags, whatever and wherever. If I had to be critical of any aspect, they are a little lightweight. I don't expect to hang anything terribly heavy on them but still, it's typical cast metal. We used them in a hunting cabin for the door to hang whatever and they work well for that.
