This body wash has an extremely strong ammonia-like smell, and it’s honestly overwhelming. It’s hard to believe a product with this kind of scent made it onto store shelves. I couldn’t use it at all because it smelled more like a cleaning chemical than something meant for the skin. Definitely not a product I’d recommend.

Smells awful. I was really excited to try this because of the ingredients and thought it sounded good for my dry eczema prone skin. I finally tried to use it and it has a very strong ammonia smell. I had to throw it away. Very disappointed because I really like Byoma products.

It smells like ammonia so bad my nose is still recovering. My CHILD with sensitive skin used it and was covered in a rash as well. Horrible. We have so much byoma and now I’m questioning all of it. It’s that bad.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very healthy lotion. Nothing in it is harmful. Many products proclaim to be healthy and good but they contain ingredients that are harmful to us and or the environment. This lotion is very healthy. I highly recommend this product. After using this product I still love it but like other reviews after you use it down the last 1/3 of the bottle there is no way the get the lotion out. This company needs to redesign this bottle. I ended up cutting to bottle open to get the last 1/3 of the product. Again a great lotion but terrible design of the bottle. That is why I changed it from 5 stars to 3. That being said will I buy it again? Yes, I will I like the product that much. The lotion soaks into your skin wonderfully and leaves my skin soft. Many lotions are either too thin or thick in consistency.

Reeked of ammonia!
I opened the bottle, still completely sealed and pumped one pump onto my body loofah. It imminently reeked of ammonia, like hair stripper. I tried to even pump on my bare hand just to make sure it wasn’t my body loofah and had my mom take a whiff. Absolutely disgusting and dangerous. Unfortunately will never be buying from this company again.

Needs Recall
Have purchased a few times before and loved it. Repurchased yesterday and when I went to use it, it smelled like straight ammonia. I’ve NEVER had this happen before. It seems like others have experienced this and I saw plenty of comments about it on Byoma’s tik tok, but it hasn’t been addressed. Personally, it makes me afraid to repurchase again. Bad batch or not, the company should be recalling them if this is an issue as smelling like ammonia cannot be good.

ammonia smell -- different formula??
this was my holy grail body wash bc it was fragrance free and didn’t irritate my sensitive at all! I’m not sure what has happened but I bought two bottles recently and was moving some to a travel bottle when I smelled something so foul and nauseating; I couldn’t believe it was from the body wash! idk if byoma changed the formula or if a certain batch has been contaminated w something, but im staying away until it goes back or this gets addressed

I hate when you can’t smell a product before purchasing. This product smells exactly like bleaching your hair. Don’t believe open it up and smell. It was sooo strong there is no way this is good for you. Guarantee we will find out soon this has toxic chemicals for your skin. As a parent please always test before putting this in a shower for your guest our family.
