Calico Critters Ice Cream Van, Toy Vehicle for Dolls

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 9 year old is absolutely loving this Calico Critters set! I was surprised at how many little accessories it came with. Everything she needs to have fun. It comes with the ice cream truck, a stand, one character and lots of small accessories.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is such a wonderful edition to the Calico Crotters play sets. Not only can this be used as a van for transportation for 4 critter and can also be set up as an ice cream stand! It comes with ten ice cream cones, 10 scoops and ears for toppings. My granddaughter was so excited to get this and add it to what she already has. She loves the Calico Critters family and all the playsets.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am obsessed with this ice cream truck. Judging by the longevity of play time, my kids agree. It is visually stimulating with an adorable, heart shaped display window. and accompanying ice cream shaped menu outlining the flavor offerings. I love toys that encourage imaginative play, learning opportunities and skills development. Apart from learning the basic principles of economics, my children have benefitted from fine motor practice using this set. For example, the van includes a functional scooper. One must position the ice cream scooper on top of the scoop, pinch the handle to secure its contents, transfer the ice cream to the cone and release. At that stage it can be placed in the hand of an adult/child figure or in the display case. This requires maneuvering and coordination (as well as identifying which size cone to deliver to which size customer). There are enough pieces to entertain both of my kids, motivating them to explore, learn, work and play together. They rotate being proprietor and consumer with each advocating for their needs in their assigned role. This set is customizable, empowering children to be decisive. There are ten flavors of ice cream, four chocolate ear toppings, six large cones and four small and endless combinations to create. The versatility doesn't stop there. There are multiple configuration options: it can serve as an ice cream truck with a bench for patrons, flip the ice cream case stowing the supplies underneath and you have a van with seating for four or do a combination of the two. The storage compartment is also handy when storing to avoid little pieces going missing. The only way this set could be improved is if it came with figures. Calico Critter sets have always been my answer to good quality, durable, well designed toys for my children and this one passes muster. Best yet, you can always expand your collection particularly if interest wanes and the toys need a refresh.

She loves moving the little pieces and it is so cute to see her make believe with it. her little friends also love to play with these. It would be a great gift.

Such a great toy. The Ice Cream is sturdy well made and I will be recommending it to my family and friends.

It is so cute and the little details take it over the top! There are tons of little pieces though so make sure you have a good storage system to keep it all together and not lose any of the little ice creams. The van is very well constructed and glides along smoothly. The ice cream holder in it can be turned over to create more seating for critters as well! My 6 year old absolutely loves serving up all her calico critters their favorite scoops and building her calico critters community!

They used their imaginations and all the pieces to spend a whole 2 hours creating a land and pretend scenarios with it. There are a lot of tiny pieces which we are worried about losing. It could be helpful to have a box or little tote to keep them in (which is what we had to do since we have a dog around the house as well). Overall, such a fun and well made product. I know my kids will play with this for a long time! Thank you!

The quality is great and they hold up well. She loves picking the different ice cream flavors and she really loves it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kids were very excited to get a new toy the Ice Cream Van Calico Critters as every kid when received a new toy. It's beautiful and very detailed my kids has to much fun every time they play with. Is a toy with quality the pieces don't broken easy. The box says is for kids 3+ but I don't think so, because has a very small pieces, and a child can be choking is put in her/his mouth. I would like to the toy have a little figure as other sets has, but wille I order one of my kids was playing with the little card board bunny that was in the box. Overall I think is a great toy and I enjoy watching my kids playing with.

The colors and the design are very cute and eye catching. The attention to detail for a toy are honestly impressive. I would say this is worth the price point. I’m very satisfied with it, and I’m honestly going to be investing in more toys of this brand. This was a first for me, and I’m happy that I decided to go with it. I would highly recommend for anyone who has kids that loves animals and all the little accessories that come with toys like this. I might have a whole village of these in the future!

She was “oohing” and “aahing” at how cute the set is! She had a little party for her toys instead of asking for her tablet.

This is the kind of toy I would have wanted when I was a kid and it kind of makes me wish I was that young again. This is a very fun set to play with and I want to just buy every set available.

This is really well built and I feel like it will last a very long time my youngest is 6 intends to be a little rough with toys however, I feel like this toy will stand up overtime

The pieces are well-designed and fit together properly, allowing for many different combinations. It doesn't come with a figure, so know that you should already have an actual Calico Critter or purchase one separately. One note: it's described as for ages 3+, however I would definitely not purchase for any child under 5 due to the choking risk the many tiny pieces would pose for little ones and the fine motor skills needed to manipulate the tiny pieces.

It was easy to put together because it requires putting the seat/tray in there and putting together the ice cream cones or setting it in the tray. It is fairly heavy for what looks light but maybe it will long lasting. It rolls well and seems to hold atleast one bunny toy that matches the brand. it makes kids use their imaginations and that's a win anyway.

She says there need to be somewhere to put it all inside the truck besides under the other ice cream.

She was delighted to discover that the ice cream counter can flip over and turn into two additional passenger seats. The only negative is that it doesn’t include any critters to play with. Overall, it’s a hit for little girls that like to play make believe.
