Q: We just purchased this today. The 360 and crane drop controls are not working. The only one that is working is the control that makes the crane go up and down. Is there some way to troubleshoot this before I go make an exchange?

A: Hi Chia! Thank you for your feedback! It sounds like the toy might still be in "try me" mode, which limits some of its features. To enable full functionality, including the hook movement and 360-degree rotation, the crane needs to be switched out of this mode. Please try that and let us know if all the features start working properly.

Q: This did not come with instructions - we had 4 different adults check everything. Huge thanks to one of the question askers - the switch at the bottom of the truck enables rotation and crane lowering.

A: Hi Sherry! Yes, it does! Along with the joysticks that let you move the boom, spin the cab, and lift the cable, the truck also has an electric motor. Just press the buttons to send it forward or backward, and it’ll drive on its own.

Q: We just purchased today. It is not in try me mode. The crane string was working but does not extend or retract anymore. It seems stuck or off track. How would we try to fix? We don’t want to unscrew the whole arm.

Maxxaction needs to be in "play mode."
Must switch from "try me" mode to "on" or "play"mode!! Lots if reviews complain about the controls. We took it back once before actually using AI to figure it out. Black switch on bottom of truck.

Buttons don't work
Just opened this and only one of the three controls actually work. My 2.5 year old doesn’t know that so he does like it. I’m returning it or hopefully swapping for one that does work. I got it on sale but I definitely would not pay full price for this.

This toy was complete junk. The mechanics stopped working within a few hours of purchase and it frustrated my toddler bc the lift would not stay up with the arm extended with attachments, what is the point. I’m returning this item.

TRY ME MODE
This is an amazing toy. Those who are saying the two joysticks don’t work… On the bottom of the truck there is the on/off/try me switch. When you purchase the truck it’s in the try me mode, so the other controls don’t work. Switch it into ON and all the controls are available

Fun toddler toy when it works
It occasionally doesn’t work. The sounds make it seem likes it working, but nothing happens. It eventually fixes itself though and just starts working again. We can’t really put our finger on the problem. My son loves it though when it is working.

The BEST toy ever!
We've had this for about 9 months and it still gets played with daily. Batteries last forever, it drives really fast, and has so many ways to play. Make sure to take out of demo mode! So glad we looked at reviews when we thought the string was broken, but you just need to hold down the lever for 30 seconds to reset the mechanism. We recommend this to everyone!

Its not broken! Heres how to fix it!
Hope this helps with those saying the rope stopped working. If they hold the lever down too long, the rope will eventually not catch anymore when you try to put it up. Hold the lever either up or down for like 30 seconds and the rope catches again and will wind up and down again. I think it’s made so you can’t actually “break” it so it goes off the track and you hold the lever until it’s back on. Also, take it out of demo mode!

Worked for an entire 2 minutes and broke. The pully system to lift the rope won't list anymore. Brought it home, unboxed it, lowered the rope and now it won't go back up. Got a 2nd one and it did the same thing. Horrible toy
