Q: Where in the package are the extra blades?

submitted by Momofthree - 11 months ago
  • A: They are behind the shaver head in the packaging. Each of the extra blades is wrapped in very thin, white paper, which offers little protection for the hands when opening the packaging.

Q: How do I change the blade on the shaver?

submitted by Sandra - 5 years ago
  • A: First, there are 3 primary components to the shaver head (not including the plastic handle): - the main fixture - the razor blade, which sits between the main fixture and the holding plate - the holding plate that secures the razor blade to the main fixture. The holding plate has a sort of tongue (with a hole in it) that goes through the central space of the razor blade and attaches to the main fixture. To release the holding plate (and the razor blade on it): 1. Put the shaver on a flat, hard, sturdy table. Point the head of shaver away from you. The plastic handle should be pointed towards you. You should be looking at the concave side where you can see the words “BLADE” and “CORN PLANE”. With the shaver oriented this way, you’ll be less likely to accidentally put your fingers into the cutting area, and the pieces won’t fly as far upon disassembly. 2. The holding plate has tabs that you should be able to see sticking out from either side of the shaving head. While keeping the plastic handle stabilized on the table surface, carefully and gently pull these tabs toward you/the plastic handle until you see the tongue of the holding plate come off of small tab in the center of the main fixture. The pieces may pop off. 3. You should be able to carefully lift off the old blade from the holding plate. You can then put one of the replacement blades on the holding plate, letting the tongue of the holding plate go completely through the hole in the center of the blade. 4. Notice how the blade sits on the holding plate with one edge extended slightly past the edge of the holding plate. If you want to use the edge marked “CORN PLATE”, make sure the blade is oriented such that the “CORN PLATE” edge is the one extended past the edge of the holding plate. 5. Position the holding plate such that the razor blade is between the holding plate and the main fixture, and such that the blade edge that is extended will be closer to the plastic handle upon assembly. 6. With one your hands, stabilize the holding plate on the table surface by holding only the tabs on the sides of the holding plate. 7. There is a small tab in the center of the head of the main fixture. With your other hand holding the plastic handle of the main fixture, gently push this tab all the way through the hole in the tongue of the holding plate.

Works great (especially for runners)

Dealt with a quarter inch thick callus on my toe from running for 5 year and figured I would have to live with it. This took it off in ten minutes

Could be improved

Maybe I received a bad batch because the Corn Plane edge and the Blade edge on each razor blade in the package that I purchased is exactly the same. One does not make finer/thinner cuts than the other. Also, the shaver seems to be good for only very thick callouses on the edges of the feet. It won’t be precise enough for small, concave areas on the soles of the feet, which is what I was hoping to use it for. The rasp is decently “sharp” enough. There needs to be some kind of protective case or pouch for storage. The big plastic handle that you can put on either the rasp or the shaver is rather silly and unnecessary compared to just having a solid handle on each.

Callus shaver unsafe!

I did not use. I cut my hand trying to get out of package. It is a very unsafe tool to be sold. Made by up and up.

I like this callus shaver. It made my feet feel smooth. I also liked that there was a second attachment to use. I enjoyed both attachments equally

CORN PLANE SIDE BEST FOR THICK DEAD SKIN

The corn plane side works really well for super dry and built up dead skin. 20 years to be exact. I don’t have bad dead skin that’s super noticible but my feet feel so much better and softer. Lotion doesn’t work for me because my skin is dead on my heels. Blade has 2 different “settings” if you will. Picture 1: when the word blade is closer to your hand; you will get a lighter cut off of skin and are less likely to cut yourself. I would use this if you have minimal dead skin and just if it’s your first time. If you feel that it isn’t doing anything even with a little pressure. I would move to the corn side BUT be very careful because it’s a wider gap meaning it gets more skin. Picture 2: this is the “corn side” but is also best for thick dead skin. The instructions aren’t the best, but once you figure it out, you got it

pretty good for it's price

I liked the shaver a lot. I've had issues with very deep calluses due to having flat feet, and it become smooth after one use. I would say be careful, and make sure you are only shaving small parts at a time to not cut yourself. I'm giving it 4 stars because the file attachment was really bad and made no difference. Otherwise great to use on calluses

Bad Design Leads to Cuts

I have used callus razors for years and only once in a great while do I cut myself. Using this razor, I cut myself 4 times before giving up. I can only guess that the angle of this callus shaver is different than others I have used and it is too easy to cut deep. I’ll look elsewhere.

Foot Razor/File

Be careful with the razor, you can literally slice a chunk out of your foot !! Otherwise it does what you need it to do.

Gets the job done

I started off by soaking my feet in hot water to help soften the callus on my feet for about 20 minutes and begin to use the shaving tool to remove the callus from my big toe and heels, Must use this gently because you will cut yourself. However, the product overall is good and easy to use.

Brought my heels back to life!

I've had deep cracked heels for years, topical treatments just weren't cutting it, but the shaver attachment completely transformed my feet. The file attachment is not great, I've bought better versions for much cheaper, but the blade is awesome. Use carefully and do a bit each couple days instead of all at once!

Best callous remover

My husband works on his feet all day and develops callous. I give his feet a TLC and use this to shave the callous down. This is the only tool I feel comftrable using at home. I've never cut or nicked him with it.

Huge fail

There's a video provided as part of this item's photo array and it would have made sense to give a demonstration on how to assemble the razor part of this thing, but alas no one bothered and the written instructions they've given in the Q&A aren't helpful at all. The attractiveness of this thing is that it has 2-modes-in-1 but without any information about how to piece together the razor functionality, this becomes only a foot file. As a foot file, it's fine. Target could fix the bad reviews (which I didn't see before buying this in store) by adding a video demonstration or even written instructions or a diagram.
