Q: Has anyone experienced an itchy scalp from using this? There are certain areas on my scalp that feel really itchy after using this oil. I've already used the oil twice now.
submitted by NaturalKinks22 - 4 years ago
A: Oh. I think it may have been an allergic reaction. My scalp kinda felt like it was on fire.
submitted byNaturalKinks22 - 4 years ago
A: Yes! Same with mane choice. But this one itches less than mane choice
submitted byAshley k - 3 years ago
A: Maybe you should deep condition your hair and then process the oil through your scalp .
submitted byCamille Rose - 4 years ago
Q: Has this made anyone's hair darker? I really don't want this to change my hair color if I decide to use this.
submitted by NaturalKinks22 - 4 years ago
A: No.Coco Nibs do not make your hair change color.
submitted byCamille Rose - 4 years ago
A: Thank you. I was wondering because I know one of the ingredients is brahmi, I thought it possibly darkened one's hair color over time. Also, some people claim that amla darkens hair over time (but I've read somewhere that amla by itself is not a dye).
submitted byNaturalKinks22 - 4 years ago
A: Cocoa Nibs + Honey will not darken your hair color. The amber bottle is to protect light sensitive oils within Cocoa Nibs. The oil itself is clear.
submitted byCamille Rose - 4 years ago
Q: Can this be used on chemically colored hair?
submitted by Oldbat - 4 years ago
A: Yes it can .A healing hair oil blend crafted to combat thinning and hair breakage and Colored hair .

A: This item is designed to work on it's own. You do not have to mix with any other oils.

Q: Can you use this while wearing protective hairstyles?
submitted by Iona - 2 years ago
A: The directions say to use every other day. It is safe to use on protective styles but you may not be meeting the suggested frequency needed to see results.
submitted byBeauty Advisor - 2 years ago
Q: Is this okay to use for straightening hair with a straight or flat iron?
submitted by gpaige_95 - 3 years ago
A: No, this is a healing hair oil blend crafted to combat thinning and hair breakage. This is not suitable to use as a heat protector.
submitted byBeauty Advisor - 2 years ago
Q: can i live it on my hair as long as i want. like a week or so?
thank you
submitted by busy mom - 3 years ago
A: Shake well before each use. Pour a small amount onto fingertips and massage into scalp. Use every other night before bedtime, or as often as needed. No need to rinse out.
submitted byBeauty Advisor - 2 years ago
Q: Does it make your hair grow longer faster or just thicker, mine is really thick but I just want my hair to grow faster.
submitted by Tiffany - 3 years ago
A: This product reduces hair loss, stop thinning and breakage. It naturally thickens and nourishes, promoting hair growth.
I used this product on my little girl and her edges were gone.

If you have sensitive skin or a sensitive scalp in particular, you might not want to try this oil. The itch was unbearable and I it took serveral washes for me to have scalp return to normal. It wasn't for me .

New formula

Defective - 4 months ago
The label information on the website shows their old formula; I did a Target drive up to find that the ingredients have changed. I wish they hadn't added fragrance because the oils listed would have been nice and pleasant on their own. The smell was strange, and I love oil scents from tea tree to olive oil, so I enjoy natural scents, but it seemed off to use it especially before bedtime as the directions suggested. The transition from alma oil to extract was also disappointing because I read that extracts are not as concentrated as oils.. If its not broken, why fix it?

They changed the formula! This no longer has the “amla oil” they advertise as the main ingredient 😭 the old formula smelled divine and this new one smells gross. Amla extract is NOT like amla oil

So far so good I haven't noticed any change in the 3 weeks that I've used it but I haven't noticed more hair loss either. I will continue to use and update in a few months.

This oil is a staple in my hair product collection. It INSTANTLY moisturizes and softens the hair. I also love that I can use it (and most Camille Rose products) on the whole family, despite us all having slightly different hair types. My daughter has dry/flaky scalp, particularly after shampooing and drying her hair, and this oil keeps the flakes away. And it smells so good. It’s not cheap, but a little goes a long way.

This is the first product I bought from Camille Rose. I used to perm my hair alot, had thin hair and my hair will fall out in clumps everytime I washed it. I will say this my favorite oil that I use all the time. My hair hardly shed anymore and my hair did grew. I used it mostly when I have in protective styles or when Im wearing conrows under my wigs. If you have sensitive skin like me the oil might have itching in the beginning but definitely stopped for me after using a few times.

Was excited to try this, the ingredients are phenomenal and I loveee the smell. Unfortunately, after using as directed for about 4 weeks, my hair started to actually thin out and fall out. My scalp became very red and sensitive after leaving this on for more than a couple hours. I think this is clearly not for thinner & finer curls, but for hair with low porosity. After discontinuing use, it took about 3 weeks but my hair is almost back to normal.

My review is based on my experience. I’m terribly allergic to coconut oil. So when I started using this my scalp started itching and burning really bad. To point when I touched it, it would hurt. I’m sure it would work great for someone without a coconut sensitivity. The smell was ok as with all natural products it just smelled earthy. I really wanted to like it but with such a high coconut content I can not use it.

I have PCOS so my hair has been breaking off really bad. This product has strengthened my hair and really helped with the breakage. It leaves your hair super oily so I only use it 3 times a week.
