Product is nicely made and is very sturdy - Door lock is flimsy but is fine for what I need it for. I have a 5.5 lb dog - A large taller dog ( or child) might be able to open it!. Be sure to measure your space - not much adjustments can be made to the gate! !

This gate is a little flimsy, however it does what I need it to do. I use the gate to keep the dog from going into the hallway that the cat's litterbox is in. The cat can go through the cat door instead of having to jump over it like other gates I've used. Our dog is a 55lb hound and she isn't able to fit through the cat door, jump over it or knock it over. The cat door stays open fine on its own and we didn't have to tie it or use a bungee to keep it open as other reviewers did. The bottom of the gate has a piece on each side that you can turn so that the gate can only open to one side or the other. I found this feature useful and I like that I can decide which side it opens on (or allow it to swing both ways if needed). The way a person unlocks the gate is a handle that you lift up that allows the gate to open, but there is a button you can slide that locks the handle down if you want to keep kiddos from going through. Overall it is good for the price. You can get nicer quality gates for more money, but for $50 this did what we needed it to!

We have a 47 inch opening and the gate does not fit even though it should, according to the product description. The opening is too big for only the main panel with one extension and is too small for the main panel with both extensions. Design and quality of the gate are so questionable. We are returning it.

After adding a new puppy to our family, I was desperately searching for something to keep her from going up stairs. For days I had been searching for a walk-thru gate that I didn’t have to mount to the walls and that was wide enough to fit our stairway. I was so glad to finally find this pressure mounted safety gate that was not only wide enough but had a small “kitty door” so our two cats can go up and downstairs freely still! This was super easy to assemble (only took about 20 minutes) and so far it has stayed securely in place. Definitely would recommend!

I love the gate and it's very easy to put up and it's long enough for the space I needed it for. The only thing that could be better is it's hard for me to open/close the knobs to tighten/loosen the posts to the walls...my husband has to do it for me. I would prefer for the knobs to be larger so it would be easier to turn them.

I needed a gate to keep out dogs from the cat room but also wanted the cats to be able to come and go Freely. I decided on this gate since it had a cat opening plus I loved the color and style. Well first it was so easy to install with no screws just a pressure mount to hold it in the door frame means no holes in my wall so that is a plus. I also loved the fact my 18lb cat fit threw the door with ease while keeping two crazy border collies out. I ended up using Velcro strap to hold the cat door open so the cats could walk in and out. I would love it even more if the cat door had a hook to keep it open but to be honest I have bought many gates and this one is my favorite hands down. I love the black gate against my white walls and the easy install makes this a gate I will use for years. I will say the cat door was just the right size for all my cats but was small enough to keep out my dogs and a friends pug dog.
