My toddler loves playing with Mack, even when not playing with the color changing aspect. I was frustrated at first like other reviewers saying that the color change doesn’t work— but realized that you need to use ice water for Lightning to turn purple. Cold water isn’t enough! Add an ice cube. If your kid goes back and forth between the warm and cold water, you’ll need to change the water often as drops of cold water get in the warm and vice versa. Yes, it’s messy and parents need to be involved if a toddler is playing. Use a splat mat like the ones for under a high chair and it makes clean up easier :)

Another Cars toy that’s junk. The hand crank track stops working several times and now this. The car changed what? One time?? And there’s never any color changing ones in the store to buy other ones. We had an older color changing lightning McQueen but it’s also not working. 🙃 save your money unless they’d like just playing in the water.

Any toy that requires a lot of work on my part is a no go for me. You need hot AND cold water for it to work. The cold/hot water then mix together and lose temperature very quickly which means you have to change the water constantly. It would’ve been cool for them to have the cars change colors without the water having to be hot/cold.

Cool to play with the first day but after that, the car stopped changing color. Kinda cheaply made so if your child plays rough, it won’t last long.

The car definitely doesn’t change colors which is its main selling point but my sons loves it so that’s all that matters. We use soapy water since the car didn’t change color.

The advertised a larger water cup because obviously a larger cup would have been better. You can’t have an and the car in the cup so you have to ice the water and then remove the ice. The cup is so small for hot water than it only takes a few dunks for it to be overpowered by cold water. My sons sits an plays with it all day because he’s not picky but this toy can be a lot of work when I have time to get up every couple minutes to change the water. If this was a 15$ toy I wouldn’t complain. It was 40$. There is no excuse for a poor design for 40$.

Cool truck but the car does not change colors. Which is the supposed to be the most appealing part of this toy. I noticed all of the reviews are paid, mine is not. It's a two star toy. My kid liked it because he's a toddler and easy-going, but expensive and doesn't work. Lame toy.

It’s not a bad toy but would be better if you had more cars that come with it and change colour as opposed to just the one. It’s a good idea changes colour with warm and cold water but with just one car gets a little repetitive. It’s cars and trucks so boys will love it no doubt.

Mack can be removed from the mobile paint shop hauler & has colour-change features. You can use warm water to chance the colour of the deco and icy water can be used to turn it back to its original colour. My children enjoyed playing with this but constant supervision was needed due to the water. This will be brilliant to play with in the garden over summer.

This toy contains a shooting range and inside it is a car wash. When we put hot water on the machine, it changes its color from blue to red, very interesting and fun.
