After plugging it in, the vehicle started to charge immediately, and I could see the stats on the ChargePoint app, my Tesla app, and the car's display. I definitely recommend this to anyone. It replaced the mobile charger I was using, and now I can put it back in my car where it belongs.

Theres features like alexa controls, wifi connectivity, and my favorite being off peak charging (who doesnt like to save a little money). Theres also a ton of data if youre into the cost breakdowns info. All in all its been a great first charger for me and super convenient

We bought this brand new ChargePoint EV charger to use with a new Volvo C40. Everything was straight out of the box from the manufacturer, installed by an electrician mid-September 2023. By the end of October, the ChargePoint had failed (verified by the electrician, which we had to pay for). We can't charge our car, so we can't use it without going to a commercial charging station 15 minutes away and sitting for 30-60 minutes. ChargePoint is "escalating" and will, eventually, send us a new one – that we will then have to pay to have installed. I feel like I've made bad choices.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I decided to get the ChargePoint Home Flex electric car charger because it's one of the highest rated and most recommended level 2 home chargers available. This is my first electric car and first home charger. It is one of the most expensive home chargers, but the charging speed, quality, and warranty (3 years!) seem to justify the price. There are also a lot of public ChargePoint chargers in my area, so it is convenient to have one app for both, which allows me to keep track of all my charging, public or at home, in one app. It is easy to install. This particular model has a NEMA plug (not hard wired) so it's easy to install it yourself if you already have an available 240V 40A outlet, otherwise you'll need an electrician to add the appropriate outlet. It charges significantly faster than a standard outlet, so my EV was able to charge up in just a few hours rather than overnight. It connects to your WiFi and is controlled with an app on your phone. It has smart features to optimize charging during off peak hours, saving money. It can also be controlled remotely and you can set up charging schedules. It has a 23 foot long cable, which was plenty of length for my setup. Mine came with a J1772 charging cable, although it also has the option for an NACS cable, which works for Tesla, and a lot of other manufacturers are now switching to. That makes the ChargePoint future proof and compatible with more EVs. I think the price may be the only drawback, but otherwise I would recommend this home charger.

I also love how you can change the charging speed just by using your phone. Sometimes your in hurry and it's nice to plug in for a shorter amount of time. We paid a professional to install.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There are 3 main reasons I highly recommend the ChargePoint Home Flex Level 2 NEMA 14-50 Plug Electric Vehicle EV Charge. The first is how easy it is to manage charging your electric vehicle with your phone app and even Alexa! I can just tell Alexa to ask ChargePoint if my car is plugged in. Mind blown! The second great thing is that it charges fast and adds 37 miles of range per hour. My third favorite feature is that the cord is plenty long at 23-feet. As for cons, once the ChargePoint was installed, there really weren't any negatives. We did have to have it installed, but once that was done we were ready to roll. I highly recommend this!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had the charger installed by our electrician, who immediately said he's very familiar with the brand, and 8/10 installs he does is actually with this product! It made me feel very comfortable as a cheap charger can lead to house fires! Not only does the charger charge my Tesla much quicker than my pervious station, but I love the app! There is no bugs that I have yet to encounter, which usually drive me crazy! I get home, plug my car in and know the app will take care of the rest. My utility company has started billing more expensive on "Peak Hours", and my Chargepoint app lets me set what time I want my Tesla to start and stop charging, so I am not billed more. Before I programed it to a specific time every night, I had it hooked up to my Alexa, which was very nice as well. The cord and plug are made of a very hardy feeling material, which is a huge plus for me since I have the tendancy to drop things. I have yet to drop the charger head, but know it will come soon. I'm not too worried however, as it definitely feels strudy enough to not crack. One thing I am hoping will eventually be adapted is a type of auto return system, similar to some extension cords that are in a round case that you pull and it releases slack, and when you pull fast it auto returns. This would be helpful so the cable isnt just wrapped around the wall charger. Maybe one day in the future!

If you do not already have the proper 240 hookup in your place of installation, I would still recommend getting one of the 240 outlet versions over the hardwired version. This will future-proof your location to some degree, add value to your house or if you move, you can easily take the charger with you. If you are already having an electrician do work for you, why not just get an outlet installed. This thing charges very quickly and the app is nice to use. You may have to move your router to get it in optimal range but this was no big deal for me as mine is a desk top router. Overall I can see this as a worthwhile investment and recommend it to anyone who intends to own an EV long term. Charging off of a 120v outlet is okay in a pinch but if you have the ability to upgrade to stage 2, do it.
