A: The mounting brackets for our Chicology Roller Shades measure approximately 2.25 inches in height, 2 inches in depth, and 1.75 inches in width. These brackets can be installed for either inside or outside mount configurations. The length of the roller shade cannot be shortened, as it’s designed to roll up neatly within the headrail.

While the photos may appear to show the shade mounted at the top of the window frame, an outside mount means the shade is installed on the wall or above the window frame, rather than inside the window recess. In some images, the mounting location can look similar to an inside mount, but the key difference is that with an outside mount, the brackets are placed on the surface outside the frame, allowing the shade to fully cover the window and provide better light control.
