Christmas Craft 5ct Felt Ornaments Embroidery Kit - Mondo Llama™

I saw the trend of felt ornaments on tiktok, but wanted to find a kit before buying supplies and winging it, and honestly that prob would have been better. Two different needles but no instructions on which to use for what. The gold thread I assumed was for bead work unravels as soon as you start trying to thread it and work with it. Instructions QR code brings you to product page for a 2 minute video that shows steps backwards. Thought this would be a fun thanksgiving day craft with my mom (both experienced crafters), and it just turned into a swearing marathon

Thank god I have made these by myself before. These instructions are god AWFUL. Even for someone who knows what they are doing!!! They should at least provide larger photos of each individual ornament to see what it is supposed to look like. This is wayyyyy too much money for what they provide.

The projects are adorable and so much fun. However. The directions suggest an order of operations that would make the project so cumbersome and frustrating and they are only for the tree. So if you have some crafting knowledge and ability to work from picture the project is delightful. Also. The holly leaves were missing for my pink dove so I needed to pick up my own felt and make my own. (I thought a 2 was missing from the 2025 ornament but they were stuck together) also. The gold sequin chain is frustrating to navigate (and not long enough for the the circle ornament) so I went off script with a gold chin stitch with the gold embroidery floss and I thing the project was better for the switch.

Giving this 4 stars because I enjoyed this kit but do recognize experience is needed to complete each ornament. Having an understanding of embroidery techniques definitely helps. I agree with the other reviews that the directions are limited to the tree ornament and also the steps are backwards. Please bring this back next Christmas (different designs) but please provide complete directions for each ornament so more people can enjoy this kit.

First of all, this is an intermediate kit (or for an advanced beginner). I am not new to sewing or embroidery as an adult woman, and I was somewhat surprised at the level of difficulty in this kit. No way could I just throw it at my 11 year old and let him figure it out. Secondly, it's missing the needle & needle threader. I have multiple sized needles from sewing to embroidery to beading and none of mine will work with this kit (even if I divide the threads). Third, the instructions are sorely lacking. Like someone else, I needed WRITTEN instructions bcz I was going to work on this kit in a hospital setting. No need to bother everyone else with a how-to video while we wait for our loved ones. Expensive for what it is, but would have been worth it with the correct materials and better instructions. I will attempt to return.

The needles are too big for the provided beads. I tried to use my own smaller needles but it won’t work with the provided thread. The felt is nice but you won’t be able to use the beads on your projects.

I wanted to love this because it’s so cute but it was just a miss. The instructions were difficult to understand, only showed them for one design, doesn’t explain which strings to use, the string doesn’t fit through the needle hole.. just so many things. The online video wasn’t much help either.

Only had the larger felt pieces, thread, and stuffing. Missing the smaller decorative pieces, sewing needles, and needle threader. I would try to reorder but it looks like everyone else had this issue too, in some way or another.

It’s a cool kit in theory, but instructions are definitely inaccurate/lacking. You should embroider the ornament before stuffing and sewing the back on. My kit came with an extra felt cutout and two of the same embellishment kits (meaning one was inaccurate) so I wonder on the quality of the kit. I bought to pass time in the hospital and learn a new skill so that it will accomplish.

Here to echo the rest of the reviews I wish I would have listened to. There are next to no instructions and there aren’t enough beads/embellishments to complete the pieces as they appear on the box.

The ornaments are pretty but the quality of the needles and lack of thread leaves a lot to be desired, be sure to have your own sewing kit. I would say this is an advanced sewing and embroidering project. Not as kid friendly as I anticipated.

There is no tutorial when you scan the QR code, so the box is false advertising. There are not complete instructions anywhere. There's only (really incomplete) instructions for 1 out of 5 ornaments, and even those instructions are in the wrong order. Unacceptable, and a beginner will not be able to complete this project. I do not recommend this kit.

The instructions are too vague, it’s only like 6 steps with blurry pictures for a single one of the ornaments. I would not recommend this project as a beginner. As well I was frustrated with the supplies given, the needle threader didn’t work properly and I found the beading portion to be difficult. There were any instructions for that part, the thread kept coming apart and I couldn’t thread the needle because the smaller needle that was given was to big for the beading thread and the needle threader was poor quality.

There are no instructions included. The code on the box only points to the link to purchase more. Also, the materials are really cheap.

This kit is horrible unless you've already done something like this before. It only gives instructons on how to do the christmas tree vaguely and then doesn't even give directions on the others. This was super frsutrating and was too complicated for me.

So this product would be super cute and fun, however it gives you thick embroidery flops and probably the thinnest sewing needle I’ve ever attempted to use. This project needs and embroidery needle.

the worst kits i have ever bought. it has no good instructions and the items in the kit are cheap and do not give you the right threads to do the beading.

Poor instructions and visuals.

It took me three hours to make two ornaments. I ended up using super glue for half of the needed decoration. Other reviewer is correct that the instructions only barely show you how to make the tree. Other piece of advice: bead/embroider before you sew and stuff together. Directions are pretty backward on that. Not fun!
