I personally think "The Story of Christmas" by Pingry is a better book if you are looking for a religious Christmas story to read to your child. While my son did enjoy this book, I didn't feel like he understood the significance of Christmas from it. It also didn't really tell the whole story of Christmas like the other book does.

This book is for a 21/2 year old little girl that I’ve never met but have seen adorable pictures of and I know her grandmother will enjoy reading it to her.

The illustrations are very cute, and this is a sweet board book for reading to babies. The poems for each of the animals reminded me of the old Christmas carol "Friendly Beasts." The full nativity scene is pictured on the cover. I find the book's simplicity a strength.

Unlike the other reviewer, I thought this was a great book to begin to read to toddlers, short and to the point. It is a little rhymey, so I kind of song it.

Pretty boring book

We have a ton of books, so I'm not THAT picky, but this one is pretty boring. Each 2-page spread features one page that is just white with the words. It never shows the whole manger scene. It just labels each thing and says what it is, like a page for the star, a page for the lamb, etc. Even with the boring white pages, you'd think there would be a grand finale showing everything coming together, but nope.
