Coast HX4 80 lm Black LED COB Clip Light AAA Battery

Purchased recently, and already used a half dozen times for a variety of purposes.

Pilots who wear hats, this product (HX4) is a no brainer!! Clip on your hat and forget it’s there. Dedicated red light button. Good price, excellent build quality, white light is super bright. Red is perfect, not too bright but bright enough. Coast’s lifetime warranty is also no joke, they take care of their customers. 10/10 recommend for those red eye flights!

Great light. But the picture that says dual buttons white/ red is misleading. Made me think one button was for white and the other for red. But they both just cycle white first then red then off. The whole point of having a red light is to not have a white light ruin your night vision. So kinda defeats the purpose if I have to go through white to get to red. Also kinda pointless and a waist of money if you have 2 buttons side by side that do the exact same thing. Why not just use one button.

I have a couple of the HX4 V2, they are a big improvement over the HX4. My wife carries one in her purse and I use it around the house. I like the 2 switches, one for the white and one for the red lights, no clicking through to get to the red light.

Great design will buy again! I need to upgrade to rechargeable battery pack for full benefits so you don’t have to buy AAA’s

Much better build than the HX4 version 1. I like the metal clip vs the plastic clip of the HX4.

Good quality. I got a metal interior roof, and drove highway and wooded trails, it held up 90 degrees straight, magnet held, it never fell off. I got the smaller version first, then this larger version. Good emergency tool.

I made a few different modified torches for late night community patrolling, but have put them all away now that I have this. It clips on my hi-vis vest perfectly, giving me an easy access torch (when I don't want to use my hi-power torch). But more importantly, the red light is absolutely perfect when I need to take notes BUT don't want to ruin my night vision. It's lightweight and by using standard AAA batteries, I always know I've got something available. I've also now started using it on my cap for early morning walks. It's much easier than headlamps and with the rotating lens, you can direct it downwards easily (versus headlamps which generally blind people as you walk towards them!).

I’ve had an HX4 light for several years & like how useful it is. It stopped working one day & the factory replaced with their lifetime warranty!! A great flashlight by a great company!

This is the near perfect flashlight. Eclipse in your pocket on your jacket or on the bill of your baseball cap and with the multi directional swivel light, you can keep the light out of your eyes and on your project. It even has a red light for us voters so it is not to give me night blindness. Just a great light. Dave

I have had this light for several years; since it first came out. It is 60-70% there, but needs improvement. My biggest complaint is the on/off switch is too exposed and turns on too easily on accident. I keep these in my pocket, backpack and truck console and they get inadvertently turned on and thus kill the battery so it is dead when you go to use it. If the on/off switch was recessed or had some ridges molded in around it, it would prevent this. I am sure there are other solutions to this problem. This literally just happened again tonight - my Father and I were walking out of the woods at dusk after hunting and I noticed his pocket was glowing. He had one of these that I gave him in his hunting coat pocket and it got turned on. Also, as others have mentioned, the bottom or battery door should be flat so the light will stand on its own. The light could be brighter and have a little more focused light. For the price it is OK, and I have not found anything better on the market. The concept is great and it is a handy little light. It just needs the aforementioned improvements.

I’ve seen reviews saying it wasn’t durable. It’s plenty durable. It’s also plenty waterproof. It’s perfect for a small flashlight, although it’s not perfect if you want it for the red light. I wish they made a version with red light only or at least the red light comes on first. You have to cycle thru the white light to get to the red light which makes it unusable if you’re in a group of people that have to preserve night vision.

This the 2nd and 3rd HX4 lights I have bought. I find the Red light feature especially useful when doing reports in a vehicle. Still have my original but the rubber switch cover came off. Still useful just not in wet weather.

Cheap and durable good for hiking in the evening the size of perfect

Nice light for fishing, getting firewood, walking dogs at night.

Vary useful light, but needs a more rugged version that'll hold up better and maybe be rechargeable like the hp3r
