I buy one every winter, and it keeps people from falling. It's like straw knitted together, not at all pretty or anything, and it comes curled up so you have to weight the ends, but once it is beaten into submission on the ends, it lies flat. We don't get much ice here (thank heaven) or snow, for that matter, but it happens occasionally and a broken leg is far more expensive than a straw mat.

I bought 2 of these for my Dad and Brother for a Christmas Gift and I am seriously hoping that these work. They have both slipped and fell on ice and mud before, so we'll see how well these work. I have not given these to my Dad or Brother as of yet. I am just going by how they looked when I got them in the mail.

I take care of elderly parents and they love to go out. I put this mat down and they can get in and out without slipping on ice or snow. Highly recommend!!!

When used properly this runner works very well. I put it on top of the ice accumulation on our deck it worked very well. When it snowed I placed the runner on top of the snow and we were able to come and go with ease. We still removed the snow, but this runner did what it was advertised to do. I have purchased 6 so I can place them anywhere I need. Fantastic product.

you do need to tack it down on the stairs if possible and after it snows, you need to sweep it clean. I you have stone/concrete stairs then i personally would use ice melt or something pet friendly. I'm buying 13 more for my kids and myself

No instructions or hardware for installing included. Probably just mail to steps and hope it doesn't ruin steps in spring when I take it up. But now I have to wait til I've melts first before I can do it.

How do these things attach to the snow and ice I have them and I can't even get them to go down the stairs.

As a senior woman living alone over 70 yrs old I can't afford to slip on my stoops leaving house. In Jan temps drop below zero. Sometimes you can't see ice. This will prevent falls.

This was not good for steps as shown. It was good for the flat portions of my deck and the cats love laying on it. I am reordering this item.

I used it on ice and was able to walk without falling.
