I looked at a lot of different card table top covers. Most were cheap and flimsy, plastic and felt and cardboard. This was more expensive, but totally worth it. It has leather like padded rails for elbows, so comfortable. The playing area is thick and padded too, almost a scuba type material. The cupholders stay in and are metal. We love cards and board game nights and this is made so well. Worth the extra money.
