I've tried a few different machines and this is the best I've ever used. I don't think I can get Hawaiian shaved ice with other small appliances, but this one is pretty close! Just go slow and don't press too hard, and the shaved ice comes out very fluffy. I've used other shaved ice machines before and had to return them, but I'm definitely buying this one again!
The effect is OK, but not great.

It's hard to get the right amount of pressure to get the perfect shaved ice without it being crunchy. Also, a lot of the shavings are unusable and the shavings aren't perfectly smooth. Wish I had bought a different shaving machine, it's still good but also disappointing at the same time. We were hoping to have ice cream at home all summer long but this shaving machine just doesn't work.

ordered this shaving machine for my niece's birthday party to make shaved ice for the kids. It was a huge hit - we made about 25 in no time! The shavings are so fine that they make perfect shaved ice - and you can use regular bagged ice which is super convenient. Highly recommend this machine, great value for money!

The results were amazing! We loved these ice creams so much. Bought them for my daughter's birthday. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that one of the ice cream cups had some plastic shards stuck to it, which got stuck in my ice cream - I'm assuming it was from the cup itself since it's white. Luckily it was mine and not my daughter's. It's definitely not shaved ice, more like ice cream, which I loved. Tastes good, can't really comment on its durability since we only tried it for the first time.

I was disappointed at first because the ice cubes (ice bags) came out broken and small... after some research I figured out that I should use ice cubes. Of course my ice cubes were too big for this machine... so I used a rubber mallet to break them up and they came out like snow, very fine! ! ! ! I am very happy with it now and will soon buy one that uses whole ice cubes, but for now this machine is great! ! ! !

Great for kids! What a great way to keep the kids cool on a hot summer day. My kids even use it to sell ice cream and make some extra money. For the price, this is a great product. I don't like the tacky blue color and stickers, but I'm OK with the vinyl. It gives a good shave, just a little rough. It's probably not super fast if you want a more thorough shave, but it's still fun to use at home, for kids' parties, and things like that.

I bought this machine for its retro look and it really does look great. The colors are nice and bright. The machine looks sturdy and is easy to use. It works quickly and efficiently if you let the ice warm up a bit. The shaved ice is the right size and has a nice thickness and texture. The side door is really convenient but it is hard to open. The machine comes with 2 plastic cups and 1 scoop. It is safe to use because of the locking mechanism. But the side door can be open while the machine is working which is not safe so I would not recommend it for kids to use without supervision. Note that the ice must not be too cold for the machine to work which is a bit annoying but not a big deal for me. This is actually explained in the manual. The manual also recommends using the machine for 3 minutes and then letting it cool for 5 minutes. This was not a problem for me since I only made small amounts of ice.

Works well and comes with a straw and cup. It does require a power cord and is very, very loud. It has a soft shaving texture if done correctly. You have to buy the syrup separately or use regular juice.
