Looks nice but difficult to assemble
This planter made from real wood pieces looks nice once it is assembled. Unfortunately, due to poor quality control in manufacturing, it can be challenging to put together. Issues with the manufacturing include: - dovetail channels are not symmetric, meaning that the angle on each side of the channel is not the same. This is also true of the tabs at the end of the planks. Some of the boards can be 'matched up' with the channels so that they slide in easily, but not all - and none of them are marked to indicate which direction the board is intended to be facing when inserting into the posts. - the stained boards have globs of stain on the tab at the ends of the boards. This additional height of the stain globs interferes with the insertion to the dovetail channels on the posts. They have to be sanded off before attempting to insert the boards into the posts. - most of the boards are tight fitting, in part due to the issues above, and require a mallet to drive them in. However, be careful using the mallet as it can cause the post to become misaligned with the board while hammering - check the alignment often while tapping into place. DO NOT hammer on the boards. They are thin and will splinter. Hammer only on the posts (that is, if you even need to do this to drive the tabs into the channels). After carefully sanding down the tabs to remove the globs of stain and a bit of the material, the boards were able to slide into the channels - some easily, others with some tapping from a rubber mallet. The boards are only 9/16-inch thick, much narrower at the butt of the dovetail tab. Be careful if sanding or hammering as the tabs can easily break with too much force. Once it's finally together, the assembly holds well and looks nice. Time will tell how long the boards will hold up to the pressure of the soil in a filled planter. The kit includes a 2x8 sheet of weed barrier to help keep weeds from growing up through the open bottom of the planter. Despite the assembly issues, this planter could not have been made from store bought material for the price listed on Costway. So I consider it a good value for a real wood raised bed planter.

The best value choice I could find.
I've seen the videos of these lasting two years, this is about my initial opinion after building one of the five I purchased. First: Yes it has all the nuts. The instructions just aren't clear. Use those double ended hex barrels instead of using the included nuts where the cross bar is attached. Then another barrel in between the bars. Adjust width as needed. Alternate support beams on those side holes for better stability too to bottom. It's easier to start on one side and screw each piece into the next in sequence (for example: barrel into first bolt that was inserted through the panel holes, then screw a bar into first barrel, attach second barrel to end of first bar, add second bar, another barrel, then last bolt through other side). It took me a few configurations to figure it out. CORNERS ARE SHARP. It's squared metal. The metal may seem flimsy, but once all parts are assembled it makes a sturdy planter. I realized many low star ratings were because of user's incorrect configuration. These things are more massive than I anticipated. Even though I laid out the pattern on the ground before they arrived, once assembled I realized I made the right choice for depth and area.

Missing Parts But..
Was easy to put together. However, was missing parts (4 Nutes), was frustrating for the price you pay to have to provide your own parts. Center supports seem short unit bows inward at center support/assembly. adjusted the nuts and Rod assembly to minimum threading to hold unit together. unit still bowed in by 1inch. We will see. On another note, unit very deep used all my composing piles to fill. Will still need more dirt to fill to top. Plenty of room for plants roots to set deep. We will see how it holds up compared to my Wood raised beds

Poor assembly instructions
Ordered two of the green 8 x 4 x2 foot beds. They arrived faster than projected, but because the pieces for the full bed were all in one relatively thin box, I could tell it was heavy for the delivery driver the way they were dropped on the front step. Both beds had bent corners on the panels which needed to be straightened or bent the other direction. We did wonder if the packages would include the center bracing rods because on the Land Guard website it looked like they needed to be ordered separately, but they were included in the box. With the way the pieces were packaged, it allowed for the corner panels and rods to rub against the side panels and scratched paint off. The instructions for assembly are quite bad consisting of three poor quality diagrams. It works much better having two people when putting the beds together and to make sure you are on a flat surface. A recommendation is to start with the bottom screw when putting the panels together and then do a top screw, because the panels need to be pushed down to match up the holes for the corner panels and the side brackets. The center bracing rods need a threaded connector in the center and a on each end. Which we found works best to get in place before tightening the screws to allow for some movement. The bed did feel sturdier after getting everything tightened up. The top and bottom of the panels are rolled so they aren't sharp, but the ends are, gloves can help when handling the panels, but make it difficult for getting the nuts onto the screws. Once filled I expect to get many years out of these beds.

Lots of small nuts and bolts but so worth it!
I highly recommend the Land Guard Raised Garden Bed Kit to anyone looking for a reliable, spacious, and stylish option for growing vegetables or plants. It's been a fantastic addition to my garden, and I look forward to many seasons of use! There are a lot of small and tiny nuts and bolts so beware your fingers might get sore but it was worth it! This raised bed provides ample space for planting a variety of vegetables, herbs, and flowers. I love how much room it gives me to grow different plants without feeling cramped. It's perfect for both beginner and seasoned gardeners. If you're debating whether to invest in a raised garden bed, this is definitely worth considering. It's sturdy, functional, and easy to maintain!

Definitely a must have!!
Waited some time before writing my review so I could give this product the attention it deserves. I bought 3 8x4x2 a year ago and I'm absolutely loving them. They've held up through Texas weather (rain, snow, ice, wind, heat) with absolutely zero issues. The photo I'm attaching is from tonight (1year later). I also bought even more beds today so I can expand my garden. Yes, these had challenges to the assembly process and they can dent and bend if not handled with care but who really cares about little cosmetic defects if they are completely 100% functional. I accidentally dented a few spots myself but they still look amazing. They aren't heavy to move about so you can try multiple locations to see what layouts work best and they offer several different sizes so you can fit it in any size yard. I get several compliments from friends and neighbors on a regular basis. Best of all you absolutely can not beat the price!! These are so much more affordable than the ones at commercial stores.

Great quality, more soil than expected.
We love this product! It took two of us to assemble, at least the first few steps. We used a drill to prevent the wood from cracking. I also polyurethaned the wood as extra protection. Great quality and definitely sturdy, much easier than building from scratch! The landscape fabric was a great feature as well! Referring to the sizing listed, we assumed 10 cubic ft of soil. We got about 13 cubic ft and still had room to spare! We also used about 2 bags of mulch for a thin layer on top. In the images you can see I just watered, which is the dripping liquid you can see on the wood.

A few tips for assembly...
Planter is easy to put together as long as you pay attention to the picture of how it's supposed to look. Do yourself a favor and order some 3/4 in L-brackets (corner brackets). Adding these will help with support. The wood on the one we received was dry and the wood cracked in some locations. We used waterproof wood glue (gel) to mend the cracks. We added a clear, natural sealant to the planter after construction which we hope will extend the life. It's larger than anticipated so we're playing around with different locations before adding soil. We love the color but it's not grey. Ours is more of a dark smoky blue.

Beautiful raised garden bed.
The assembly was not difficult and took my son and I about 45-minutes to put together. It is very sturdy and large enough for multiple plants to grow in. We wound up putting six 50-pound bags of soil in and that still didn't come close to the top. I like that it came with the form fitting barrier cloth.

Quality Appearance but Lacks Stability.
3/5 stars overall: works good enough! ??deducted for sturdiness, thickness of box walls, quality, and beginning ease of assembly. ??notes decent pricing, fast shipping, lightweight equipment, coloring, and capacity of boxes. ?? i don't think they're super sturdy, especially at the corners, but they do well enough for my small backyard garden. you might want better quality ones than this brand for your front yard or landscaping BUT they do hold a lot of soil & plants. additionally, the coloring matches what is advertised (unless you accidentally scratch an edge with a locking piece while assembling, like i did) ?? since they are open bottom so the roots can grow down further and whatnot, it makes them less structurally sound. they're also made of pretty thin sheets of galvanized steel that i had to pry apart when assembling. these sheets tend to lean outward under the pressure of added soil once assembled. ??i put it together mostly by myself with help flipping them over and hammering in the locking pieces from lil bro. the instruction manual is virtually useless and there is a bag of unnecessary screws sent in the package. i was frustrated and confused at first but once i figured out what i was doing and watched the video tutorial, it wasn't that hard. realistically it would take maybe an hour or so per garden box (2 sheet x 1 sheet rectangle)

Makes gardening Funtime hold
The finish product appears to be of good quality and makes above ground gardening fun. It must be assembled on a flat service such as the garage floor or the driveway and it takes an additional person to hold the panels while they are assembled.

I really do love my race garden bed. I don't have to do a lot of bending overs and it's very deep so worked well for my beats and carrots. It's very sturdy and the color green is really nice.

PLEASE READ before reading other reviews and making your dec
OK - so I bought two of these. I did NOT read the reviews before I bought (which is a good thing b/c I prob wouldn't have purchased if I had read about the difficulty assembling)...BUT WAIT... I have good news! The first one took forever until I watched the video in between the first and second garden box assembly....and focused my attention to the 10mm you need to have spaced on each of the right and left sides when sliding on the metal sliders on top and bottom (this WILL make your life so much easier when assembling so PLEASE watch the video)...This is a great product for the price and especially if you need to buy more than one for lots of veggies. Here's the deal....the instructions say that you don't need any tools...YOU DO. You need a Rubber Mallet (for sure) and a drill and lots of screws (which they say is optional...IT'S NOT if you want this to last more than one season (screws will keep it lasting for years to come if you add enough of them (and I didn't use the tiny screws they provide as an "optional step", I used longer sheet metal screws and pre drilled a hole before screwing the sheet metal ones in - make sure your predrill hole (use a drill bit that is thinner than the width of your screw). Now for the real deal....Me and my dad (you need two people for this assembly) started off assembling the first one. Took us 3 hours and after two bloody fingers from cuts (I didn't wear the gloves they provided and learned my lesson the hard way - WEAR THE GLOVES even when taking out of the box as that was my first major injury. The directions are not great and so that is why you should watch the video first. it's NOT easy to slide the metal bars on top and bottom so slide it on half way and use the rubber mallet to pound it the rest of the way (by having one person hold the side as you pound the slider in with the mallet) and pay very close attention to having equal inches of exposed aluminum on each of the left and right side!!!! If you do this, assembly WILL only take you about half hour vs. my first attempt at over 3 hours. Assemble the two long sides first before you attempt the corner brackets - and after it's all assembled, I put in 4 sheet metal screws on each corner - 2 on top of corner piece and 2 on sides of the corner piece (through the metal and into the aluminum (need to go very slow with drill when working with metal as you predrill and put pressure with fingers underneath as you work thru metal and aluminum) - Then I added two screws on each long side pieces directly in the aluminum where the two pieces meet. Now it is STURDY and ready for the weight of 10-12 bags of soil pressure - sorry for the long winded review but I just didn't want someone else to feel like checking themselves into a looney bin after trying to assemble without knowing these facts :)

This is my 7th Kingbird raised bed. These are easy to put together and look great. My last order was missing some corner pieces on delivery, so I contacted seller support via email. Betty was very helpful and took care of everything. I received the missing connectors promptly. Definitely recommend these beds.
