Cottage Road Library with Doors Mystic Oak - Sauder: Adjustable Shelves, Hidden Storage

We use this bookcase for homeschooling. It has plenty space and is very pretty. It did take quite some time to put it together though.

The finish of this bookcase is as nice as pictured online. The assembly went smoothly, and the final product was both pleasing to the eye and spacious for storage and display. It's an appealing addition to my apartment.

I've bought and built four library with doors cabinets. The materials and workmanship are high quality. Given the complexity of the assembly, they are designed for the least possible hassle, and the instructions are clear and helpful. But I want to focus here on customer service. In a world that seems to go out of its way to fail its consumers on this front, Sauder gets it right. I got most of the way through assembling one unit only to realize that a door panel I hadn't inspected was damaged and unusable. I had purchased the cabinet some 6 months earlier and procrastinated on building it, so I worried that any warranties would no longer be in effect, but I called the number on the instructions and was immediately greeted by a representative—yes, a living, breathing human being—who promptly took my information and shipped out a replacement door, no questions asked. I know this is a costly model for a manufacturer that could replace it for pennies on the dollar with an infuriating phone tree, but this customer will remember this standout experience.

I will have to say this is a decent product for the price and simplicity. It took about an hour to build from start to finish and instructions are easy to follow.

I now have three of these bookcases in my office. I'm using them to store all of my genealogy research and family notebooks. They're very upscale looking and sturdy, I especially like how the doors fit so well on the first try. There was very little adjustment needed. The shelves are sturdy and generous in depth and height. And there's a certain cool factor when you have three of these bookcases lined up like a real library! The assembly process is actually fun for a person like me who likes to put things together. Within interruptions, it took me about an hour to put the bookcase together, the only tools I needed was a Phillips head screwdriver and a hammer. For those who don't especially like putting puzzles together, if you read the directions and follow them exactly, it goes very smoothly. One thing I have learned is, don't question the process, the instructions are explicit. The materials provided are exactly what you need and assembly is really a fail proof system. If it doesn't go together properly or you have parts left over it's not Saunders's fault, you missed something or skipped a step! I would highly recommend these book cases!

We were surprised at the lack of quality in the materials for the price. Cardboard backing. Particle board. Easy to build and the instructions are very clear. Once it's put together it looks pretty good. One key piece was split so I called and customer service said they'd send the replacement part out and so we should have it in 4-6 days. It definitely is not heavy duty, but it will work well for what we have in mind for DVDs and CDs etc. It coordinates well with our existing furniture so that's a win.

The precision of the pieces fitting together was excellent. The very organized and detailed instructions were also outstanding. The labeling of the parts individually wrapped was also easy to identify so there was no doubt what screw/nail to use since many look alike and are close in size. Many "assemble yourself" products today have HORRIBLE instructions to follow, missing parts, and poor assembly hardware. Sauder, unlike the rest, has a first class product in every category!

Very easy to put together. Only issues we had were attaching the doors. Overall we love how it looks!

Downsizing and moving was a real challenge, but the bookshelf really helps to clean things up. I have a lot of books and family pics that needed a home. This is a really nice unit, I recommend it for those of us who cannot afford high end furniture. I bought 2 for my guest room and they look terrific!

The bookcases have lots of open and hidden storage. The raven oak finish is dark but the shelves are a lighter color that add charm! The shelves are adjustable—this was the reason I bought them.

Bought a pair of these for my family room and they look a bit farmhouse. They were shipped so quickly. They were very easy to put together and are very sturdy.

I purchased two of the Library with Doors to use on each side of the Cottage Road Collection Credenza. Completes the look of the room! Easy to build with easy to follow instructions and especially nice that all the hardware is sorted and labeled. So much storage space!

Installation instructions and illustrations were excellent. All of the parts and pieces were marked very well and nothing was missing. Great packaging.

Easy to assemble. Brightens up the room.

This secretary completes my home office. I already have the desk and bookcase. Gives me so much storage and space for decorating. Love it!

The entire Granite Trace collection is absolutely beautiful! And very sturdy. My only complaint is the backing on the library shelf. It's a flimsy piece of particle board instead of a solid piece like the rest of the shelf. I have 6 pieces of furniture from Sauder and I am very pleased with all of them.

I am using the top to display family photos and mementos. The bottom is a prefect place for photo albums or craft supplies.

Easy Assembly. Fits in smaller areas nicely. Great storage. Our only question? Why is this unit not offered in a wood tone finish. Very happy the unit is packed well as the delivery person must have set it down and crushed one corner, which would not have happened if delivered to the correct address. We would have helped to unload the package. No damage to parts inside.
