A: Hello Bree, We appreciate your interest in our Beddings! To answer your question, The rule of thumb is about 2 tablespoons (larger machines ) of detergent for each regular load. It might be possible that if too much is used, the sheet will end up with a soapy residue and leave them feeling slimy. Color fades
Huge fan of the Pillowfort cotton sheets...this has been one of my favorite patterns but the quality is not there. Less than a year after purchasing and they are so so faded. Wish the quality was better, for the price I'll buy another set but wish they would last longer

Pillowcase is TOO SMALL
I overall like the quality and look of these sheets —and wish all of their styles came in 100-percent cotton—BUT the pillow case is very small. Tempted to rate this two stars for that reason because it’s every day irritating. If you are using a standard size pillow, it will stick out of the case and drive you crazy trying to push it in so the bed doesn’t look sloppy. Make the case two to four inches longer!!

Thin and crisp
These are very thin sheets that are not soft. They are more crisp, but not like percale or any other crisp fabric. They feel more like a really cheap rain jacket almost. I had to wash them a few times in a row to get rid of all of the chemical smell on them. Most of my kids refuse to sleep on these sheets because they are uncomfortable, so we keep them as a backup set.
