submitted byJulie - 5 years agoTarget staff supportA: Absolutely NOT!!! I washed it in cold water with indoor hang dry. The top cotton layer shrank, while the bottom layer stayed in tact, causing the mat to no longer lay flat. Ironing didn't help.

liked until i washed one, shrunk, turned darker in color, and is wrinkly. it is 100% cotton so be warned. the “machine washable” advertising is very misleading, would only spot treat. pictures include one not washed, the one i washed, and comparison (note the difference in size, color, wrinkles)

Great design; however, I agree with other reviews... cold water wash, line dry indoors and you're done. The top cotton layer shrinks while the bottom layer stays in place, causing the whole mat to no longer lay flat. Even ironing doesn't help. Thank goodness I only washed one - the rest are going back. Too bad, because they really looked great on a white tablecloth with navy blue cloth napkins.
