Q: What does unfinished exactly mean? No protective lacquer or glaze of any type? And if so is that a problem when spills take place? Or is this a type of wood that will naturally repel any food and drinks stains.

A: Hello Adreana, this item is unfinished raw wood. There is no protective coating of any kind on it. You can paint or stain it any color you wish or leave it raw wood.

A: There is an extension in the middle of the table. Without the extension piece, the item is 48". With the extension piece, the item is 60". Hope that helps!
