Feels and Handles Like Real Clay
I tested this clay on a new tabletop pottery wheel I am planning to use for intro classes. I've been using pottery wheels and various Kiln fire clays for over 15 years. I am extremely impressed with how this clay handles when both hand building and wheel throwing. I noticed in several of the lower reviews there were complaints of it cracking. Since the base of this product starts with a natural clay, I was not surprised by this. Baked polymer clays and other air dry clay products that have more synthetic ingredients will be more durable for some projects, but lack the feel of the real thing. Natural clays like those used for standard pottery building like to crack when 1) its too thin 2) too thick 3) over worked or 4) because it feels like it. :-) None of the items I've created so far have given me any issues and are holding together beautifully. If you are interested in beginning a journey in pottery building but not yet ready to invest in standard clays and a kiln, this is a fantastic choice. I'm looking forward to introducing people to the joy of throwing pottery on a wheel without the need to have a working kiln!

Practice and have fun! Laugh! Practice some more!
I am an artist and I tried this product for a project with my nieces and nephews. This product is good, but you have to have patience. In order for it to work, you really need to have some basic knowledge for sculpting. It is great for teaching sculpting. Basic sculpting. Trial and error teaching. You have to have a structure to support the clay. Like an armature. For this clay, and practice, keep the project small. Add small, small, amounts of clay at a time and let your project rest between layers. Keep damp, not dripping wet, but damp paper towels to cover the sculpture in between working on it and when complete. You have to let it dry slowly. It's practice. Practice makes , well, it makes practice. The price is not bad compared to high quality clay, so take time to appreciate what it is. Practice. Think of it as a come and go project that is going to take awhile to finish Have fun!

Ruined the last memories of my dog
I purchased a 5lb bucket of clay to make a paw print for my terminally ill dog. The night before she was put to sleep, I made a clay print of my hand with her paw inside of it. I loved it! However, when the clay dried, it broke in pieces (see pics). The only print of dog's paw is destroyed and she is gone. I am so sad I could cry. I thought I could rely on Crayola but I was wrong. They made a difficult situtation worse. I should have read the reviews before I put all of my trust into this company. Now I have no way to honor my first (and likely only) dog.

It is never easy to lose a loved one and we are sorry for your loss. Your frustration with the paw print you made using Crayola Air-Dry Clay is completely understandable. We want to do all we can to help you save this precious memento. While success may vary depending on the severity of the cracks, you can try repairing them by placing a few drops of water on the cracks and smoothing them over with your fingers or by filling in the crack with a small amount of wet clay and smooth with your fingers. Air dry clay seems dried out
I received my order very quick! When I opened the air dry clay it seemed very stiff and lumpy-not the same as when I used this same brand last year. I have not opened all the buckets so I am hoping the rest will be in better condition

Cracks all over
I bought this product in order to make a Volcano and when it had dried, the clay cracked into pieces. I would advise against the purchasing of the low quality bucket of dried out garbage.

It is disappointing to hear your Air-Dry Clay Creation has cracked. This definitely is not the quality you would expect from a Crayola product, and your feedback will be passed along to our team for further inspection. To help prevent this in the future, we do have a few tricks up our sleeves. Forming the Air-Dry Clay around a rigid support or armature is not recommended. The clay gradually constricts as it dries, and the rigid piece remains the same size. This can result in the clay cracking. If you feel an armature is practical or necessary, it is best to choose one that allows a small amount of "give" such as crumpled aluminum foil.Air-Dry Clay pieces should be at least ¼ inch in thickness. If the item you created is too thin, cracking may occur. Water can be added to Air-Dry Clay to soften or join pieces. However, too much water may result in cracking as the clay dries. If too much water is added, making the clay very soft, allow the excess water to evaporate before molding pieces. Please contact us at Crayola.com/support so we may learn more and help make this right. Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
