Q: Is this Pure Canola Oil expeller pressed or by hexane?

  • A: Great question, we appreciate you asking! Our Crisco® Oils are expeller pressed. The expeller is the name of the equipment that presses the oil out of the seed. The oil is then collected and we do the rest of the processing to make it edible. Hexane is a solvent that is used in extracting the oil from the seed during oil processing. This is done very early in the process and is not done in the Crisco plant. All the hexane is removed during our processing. We hope this helps!
