Versatile and practical, the Cubbie Bench is at home in any room. Store favorite shoes in the three compartments under the sturdy bench and keep it in your front hallway. It's equally suitable for holding your baskets, books and blankets in other areas of the home, such as at the foot of a bed. With a simple style that blends with any décor, this is one bench that won't leave you on the sidelines.
This bench came really quickly and was easy for me to assemble on my own. The parts aren't labeled but it was still okay in figuring out. Wouldn't put too much weight on it but holds stuff neatly and looks good in the space!
This would have been a 5-star review, except for one thing... the quality of the material. I'll get to that... but first.. the box shipped FAST to my door. 100% assembly required and tools are not provided. I needed a small hammer and a screwdriver to put this together. Basics--easy peasey. I was actually able to assemble this myself, 7 months pregnant, with no additional assistance and just those two tools. The pieces aren't labeled, and the only tricky part I wasn't sure of was the front decorative piece that goes on the bottom to sort of hide the legs. The instructions aren't clear about how that attached (to to the legs, not to the larger base part). When I was unboxing, I notice that some of the pieces had what looked like melted foam and melted wording from the tape. Some of it came off by scratching it with my fingernail. Some larger parts didn't. I ended up shrugging it off because one of the spots was on a back piece the inside, and once I put cookbooks in front of it, wouldn't show. But that's exactly why this got 4 stars instead of 5. How this product is stored and packed made for a less than ideal material. Once together though, it's a great size, great quality, holds a good bit of weight (two guests on it for us. We're using it in our kitchen as extra seating at the table). I'd recommend for the price ($67).
This is the worst piece of Target furniture I’ve bought, and I’ve bought a lot. The parts aren’t labeled, but you can figure it out. There is no center support so the first time an adult sat on the assembled bench, the front piece of trim broke from the strain. Some of the hardware is more user friendly that its predecessor, but the plastic pegs that replace what used to be wooden dowels are way too snug a fit to be able to insert without damaging yourself or other parts. The backer board is fairly thick and comes with zero predrilled holes so your hammer skills must be on par or you need to switch to screws. All in all, it serves its purpose for cubbie storage and is a nice spot for plants, but it’s hardly a bench.
