Daiya White Cheddar Mac and Cheese - Case of 8/10.6 oz

I was skeptical at first on how I would like it with it being dairy free but shockingly has the same great taste and texture regular dairy Mac n cheese has just without the dairy!

It’s so good knowing I’m feeding my kids something with cleaner ingredients that still has good flavor and is easy to make for them! The packaging is also super cute and it the Mac itself doesn’t have that weird texture that a lot of dairy free ones do! We love it!

I would rate it as a “5” because of the high sodium content. I would really like to see a lower sodium option.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This “Daiya” Mac & Cheez is a great option for plant-based diets and vegetarian options, however the taste is very subpar. I added some garlic powder and seasoning salt to not take away from the whole dairy-free recipe, but this product is an acquired taste. The texture is very rich and smooth and could definitely be cooked to your liking. This is amazing for a lunch, in which you’re craving pasta!

Or if you weren’t aware of the brand being a dairy free brand lol. Taste was so delicious and wanting just a tad more. Was creamy and just the right thickness. Not too thick that it was almost like eating taffy. That homemade perfection Mac n cheese that was the go to meal from grandma type “delicious”. Leftovers did require a tiny amount of effort to get the “creamy” texture back just enough to make it more of gooey goodness and not just a dried out pasta meal. But what leftover pasta comes out to perfection when reheated? None. So it’s nothing that would change my mind on not purchasing it again. And being lactose intolerant I tend to come across some “lactose free” or “dairy free” products that end up determining on how my evening is going to end. Which ends up with me being crouched over in excruciating pain and the toilet being my best friend for the next few hours. Not the case with Daiya Mac n cheese!! Your safe with this choice 🙂

The cheese comes as a liquid sauce instead of powder and it made for a smooth and silky finished product. Not sure how many servings were in a container but one box was a full meal for 2 adults plus we still had a llittle left over for lunch the next day. I added fresh cracked black pepper and broccoli florets to spice it up!

This product is both dairy-free and gluten-free, which makes it a great option for her dietary needs. While I’m not vegan myself and could tell it wasn’t traditional dairy-based white cheddar, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I still enjoyed it. I personally like the Alfredo one the best but this one is good with some hot sauce! Don’t expect it to taste like true Mac n cheese but if you’re having the craving, it will satisfy.
