Dark City (1998)

A Kafkaesque slice of sci-fi noir from director/co-writer Alex Proyas ("The Crow"), this haunting thriller stars Rufus Sewell as a man who awakens to find himself wanted for murder and his memory gone. As Sewell tries to find the keys to his past, he's pursued through the dreamlike city by a group of mysterious black-clad beings called "Strangers" who can twist reality to suit their whims.
