For Dave, this marked the beginning of a new chapter in his life. Though he grew up in a family of bakers, his life took a different path. A path that landed him in prison for 15 years. Determined to prove his worth and make a positive impact, Dave worked tirelessly to bake breads that tasted unlike anything else on the market — packed with seeds and grains, made with only the very best organic and Non-GMO Project Verified ingredients. Dave’s Killer Bread® believes everyone is capable of greatness. One in three of the company's employee partners at their Milwaukie, OR bakery has a criminal background—but your past doesn't define your future. As a proud Second Chance Employer, Dave’s Killer Bread® truly believes everyone deserves a second chance to become a Good Seed.

Q: can diabetics eat this bread

submitted by Lucy - 3 years ago
  • A: If you’re looking for a low-sugar DKB variety, we’d suggested our Powerseed loaf. Sweetened with organic fruit juices, Powerseed has 1g of sugar per slice.”

Try this bread!

This bread makes it difficult to eat any other brand. Every variety is delicious and healthier than any other brand that tastes this good.

Worth it

So delicious and not to much sugar as well. A bit pricey but worth it. Favorite part of breakfast

Good

I love this bread. Something about it is so good. Try with some avocado with lemon. Or a fried egg. Even a sandwich - it’s really good.

I’ve been loving all of DKB lately and this was pretty good. I eat two pieces of toast with the good and gather red bell pepper hummus most mornings. I keep it in the fridge so it lasts longer and it toasts up well in my opinion, not stale at all.

Very dry bread. Good as toast. Aldis knock off brand is much better

The only bread I tend to buy regularly

I love this bread. it's low calorie. no preservatives. taste pretty good and doesn't screw with my fitness or my fat loss and lean gain goals. The only issue is, due to the lack of preservatives in this, you'll want to freeze it and thaw slices as necessary, or you'll end up buying more than you need.

Not the same bread it used to be.

This was my go to favorite bread (Good Seed). Not any more. At first I thought it was just a bad batch that didn't have the taste, texture and amount of seeds it used to have. But no, it all the same. I've bought my last loaf and now in search of a replacement.

Delicious and meets all our needs!

We LOVE Dave's good seed thin sliced, and it is the one bread that meets all the needs and wants of our big family, from the baby with dairynut/sesame allergy to the seniors with pre-diabetes, etc. It is delicious plain and not plain, it is thin but not fragile, it toasts well, and it goes with everything! THANK YOU for this bread! Also thanks for taking out the sesame seeds so we don't have to worry about dropping seeds around that baby!

Amazing Alternative to Normal Bread!

I was recently diagnosed as a diabetic and was struggling for a bit to find a bread that met my needs for both carbohydrate and sugar intake. This bread is so incredibly good as both an open-faced sandwich, and by itself toasted with some cream cheese on top though! It also has such a good texture and flavor on the edges too from the seeds, it's like adding a little extra oomph to something already really good.

Fewer seeds

Noticeably fewer seeds in thin-sliced Good Seed. Third loaf with this.

Shrinkflation!

Good bread. New smaller size stinks. A slice of cheese now overhangs the sides of bread

The incredible shrinking loaf

What happened to the loaf size? Thin sliced used to be a regular sized loaf, just sliced thinner. It is now both thin sliced and a much smaller loaf. This used to be my go-to bread for morning toast. Can’t justify the cost now that the slices are half the size.

Best bread ever.

Dave's Killer thin whole grain is the best tasting and according to nutrition data it's at the top of because of the long chewing time needed. Yeah for Dave's Killer Bread.
